Chapter 1. Version 1.2.1
1.1. Introduction
The DX Object Storage SCSP Proxy is a reverse proxy that provides an interface to the storage
cluster. The proxy accepts HTTP requests from the host network, forwards them to the internal
storage cluster, handles redirects transparently, and then supplies the response back to the
requestor.
Thank you for using the DX Storage SCSP Proxy 1.2.1 release!

1.2. Changes in Release 1.2.1

The SCSP Proxy now better handles a DX Storage cluster being restarted while the Proxy is
running. In previous releases, the Proxy sometimes logged multiple unhandled exceptions when
attempting to contact a cluster that had been restarted, generating an excessive number of log
messages.

1.3. Previous Features and Changes in Release 1.2

Release 1.2 Beta 1 includes the following changes:
• The SCSP Proxy intercepts GET / and HEAD / requests and responds with information it stores
internally about itself and about the cluster for which it serves as a forward proxy. Only GET / and
HEAD / requests result in this type of special handling by the Proxy.
• The Proxy now supports the use of named objects in DX Storage version 5.0 and later.
• The AggregateInfo method can be used as follows with named objects:
{uuid [mutable|immutable] | url-encoded-name}

1.4. Previous Changes in Release 1.1

Release 1.1 had the following changes:
• The SCSP Proxy installer and uninstaller now properly updates the hosts.cfg file after an
upgrade.
• A proxy memory issue that could consume increasing amounts of RAM has been resolved.
1.4.1. Limitations of this Release
These are the known issues and operational limitations that exist in this 1.2 release of the DX
Storage SCSP Proxy.
• Proxy connection timeout. If no DX Storage nodes are online at the time the Proxy is started, an
HTTP client cannot connect to Proxy. The Proxy returns either a 504 (Gateway Timeout) error or
a connection timeout.
To troubleshoot connectivity issues, do the following in the order shown:
1.
Verify whether or not the Proxy is running.
