Scope These instructions describe how to replace any of the following Scitex ® Dijit 5000 Series Printheads: • 5120 • 5240 • 5122. These instructions apply only to the currently manufactured models of printheads. Replacement Instructions...

Replacement Procedures The following sections describe how to remove and install the following three 5000 series printheads: • 5120 • 5240 • 5122. General Guidelines The 5240 procedure applies only to the currently manufactured 5240 (serial numbers 3000 and higher).

Replacement Procedures 5120 Printhead Use the following procedures to remove a 5120 printhead and install a replacement printhead. Removal 1. Turn off the printer by pressing [PRINTER ON]. 2. Release the printhead filter (1) from its clip. 3. Disconnect the printhead catcher fluid tube quick disconnect fitting from the printhead assembly catcher fluid tube fitting (2).

Replacement Procedures Unpacking 1. If the printhead is unpacked, skip to “Installation.” 2. Remove the inner carton (1) and open it. 3. Remove the top piece of foam and the print sample. 4. Remove the printhead filter (2) and paddle board (3) from the cutouts in the foam.

Replacement Procedures 5240 Printhead Use the following procedures to remove a 5240 printhead and install a replacement printhead. Removal 1. Turn off the printer by pressing [PRINTER ON]. 2. Disconnect the catcher line (1) quick disconnect. 3. Disconnect the inlet (2) quick disconnect. 4.

Replacement Procedures Unpacking 1. If the printhead is unpacked, skip to “Installation.” 2. Open the outer carton and remove the top piece of foam. 3. Open the inner carton and remove the top piece of foam. 4. Remove the printhead shipping case (1) and eyelid tube (2) from the inner carton.

Replacement Procedures 5122 Printhead Use the following procedures to remove a 5122 printhead and install a replacement printhead. Removal 1. Turn off the printer by pressing [PRINTER ON]. 2. Disconnect the inlet (1) and outlet (2) line quick disconnects, and then connect the lines to each other.

Replacement Procedures Unpacking 1. If the printhead is unpacked, skip to “Installation.” 2. Open the outer carton and remove the top piece of foam. 3. Open the inner carton and remove the packing material. 4. Remove the bubble package containing the printhead shipping case from the inner carton.
