    Section II Location of Heater The Hardy Heater is designed to set outside the building to be heated. The unit must be located a minimum of 10 feet from the building. The unit should be installed upon a concrete pad. There are two typical options that we recommend.

    Section II 2-2 Hull Removal After placing your new Hardy Heater upon the concrete pad, you are ready to continue the installation process. There are two methods to gain access to the rear of the Heater to make plumbing and electrical connections.

    These grates are designed to be turned over if they warp. On Hardy H5 models, there is a stainless steel flame baffle (15” x 10”). This flame baffle is inserted in the firebox across the 3/4” stainless steel pipes located directly below the smokestack.

If the chloride content of your local water supply exceeds the specifications mentioned above and necessitates the use of bottled or rain water, please do so to maintain the warranty of you heater.
