Step 1: Prepare for Your Injection
Allow Autoinjector to Warm Up
Allow autoinjector to reach room temperature for comfortable injection.
Gather Necessary Supplies
Collect autoinjector, alcohol wipes, bandage, and sharps container.
Wash Hands Thoroughly
Wash hands with antibacterial soap before proceeding with preparation.
Open Tray and Remove Autoinjector
Open tray and carefully remove autoinjector from its packaging.
Check Expiration Date
Verify expiration date on autoinjector label and carton before use.
Examine Syringe Contents
Inspect liquid for clarity, color, and presence of particles.
Inspect for Physical Damage
Check syringe and autoinjector for any cracks or breakage.
Clean Injection Site
Clean chosen injection site with alcohol wipe and allow to dry.
Remove Needle Cap
Hold autoinjector body and pull off the needle cap.
Verify Needle Shield
Ensure black needle shield is present inside the removed needle cap.
Dispose of Needle Cap
Dispose of needle cap and proceed immediately to injection.
Step 2: Administer Your Injection
Hold Autoinjector and Position
Hold autoinjector and place needle end against skin at 90° angle.
Unlock and Start Injection
Push autoinjector against skin until resistance, then push button.
Maintain Pressure for 10 Seconds
Keep autoinjector pressed firmly against skin for 10 seconds.
Step 3: Finish Your Injection
Confirm Dose Administration
Ensure syringe plunger moved to bottom before lifting autoinjector.
Lift Autoinjector and Safety Guard
Lift autoinjector; safety guard slides down to protect the needle.
Cover Injection Site (Optional)
If desired, use small adhesive bandage to cover injection site.
Proper Disposal of Used Autoinjectors
Use FDA-Cleared Sharps Container
Place used autoinjectors in FDA-cleared sharps disposal container immediately.
Alternative Household Container
Use heavy-duty plastic, puncture-resistant container if sharps container unavailable.
Community Disposal Guidelines
Follow community guidelines and local laws for disposing of full sharps containers.
Storage Guidelines for Rebidose
Refrigerated Storage
Store autoinjectors in refrigerator between 36°F and 46°F (2°C to 8°C).
Alternative Storage Conditions
