1. WILL MAGNET THERAPY WORK FOR ME?
According to recent scienfic studies, 75 to 95% (depending on the condion) benefit from magnet therapy. It is esmated that over 120 million
people worldwide use magnet therapy. "I can't say anything officially yet but let us face it: this treatment (magnec therapy) is a Godsend.
It's good for almost anything." Dr. Kenneth S. McLean – MD Bioenergy Newsleer, Feb. 1986
2. HOW LONG SHOULD I USE A MAGNETIC PRODUCT?
Listen to your body and decide according to your personal results. Some people use magnec therapy unl the pain or symptoms disappear
and re-apply when pain or symptoms return. Other people use magnec products most of the me. Generally, magnec therapy is used
short-term to recover from injury and enhance the healing process. For chronic condions and to promote wellness, vitality, and balance,
it is recommended that the magnec product(s) be used most of the me.
3. IS MAGNET THERAPY SAFE?
The World Health Organizaon study on magnec fields, published in 1987, declared magnets safe. All the scienfic studies to date confirm that
magnet therapy is a safe form of natural therapy. It is important that persons fied with pacemakers, defibrillators, implanted insulin pumps,
or other electro-medical devices keep magnec products at least 18" (45cm) from the device.
4. DOES MAGNET THERAPY HAVE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
As indicated in the results of all the essenal scienfic studies, no adverse side effects have been observed with magnet therapy. An exceedingly
small percentage of users may experience mild, temporary symptoms such as light-headedness, ngling sensaon, feeling of warmth, and
increased thirst. In rare instances, as part of the healing process, a parcular condion may feel worst before starng to improve.
These sensaons are temporary and can be eliminated by removing the product and introducing it to the body at a slower rate.
5. HOW QUICKLY DOES MAGNET THERAPY WORK?
This can vary from a few minutes to several weeks. Generally, people will noce an improvement within several hours to one week. With some
condions the results are dramac, while with others the results can be very subtle. If you are not sure if your magnec product works for you,
simply take it off for a while. If your pain or symptoms re-appear, it is a confirmaon that magnets are helpful for your condion.
6. HOW DO I DECIDE WHICH MAGNETIC PRODUCT TO USE?
In general, the rule of thumb is "put the oil where it squeaks the loudest" - and choose the product(s) you would be most comfortable using.
Nothing works if it is not used!
- Back problems – back or waist wrap, magnec pad, sleep systems.
- Foot problems – magnec insoles.
- Sff neck – necklace, neck wrap.
- Wrist, elbow, or shoulder problems – bracelets.
Small but powerful magnets placed on pain trigger points or acupuncture points can also be used for most painful condions.
For general health and well-being, energy, and balance, most people prefer easy to wear, aracve magnec jewelry, insoles, and sleep systems.
7. WHAT IS GAUSS?
Gauss is the unit used to indicate the strength of a magnec material. It is greatly misused by unscrupulous manufacturers who use material
gauss strength to indicate the strength of their products when in truth, the strength of a magnet depends on:
a) Strength of material
b) Size and weight of the magnet
For example: The earth's magnec field is 0.5 Gauss, and a refrigerator magnet is 10 Gauss. Considering only these numbers one would think that
a refrigerator magnet is more powerful than the earth. This, of course, is incorrect; the earth is immeasurably more powerful due to its
immense size. Unfortunately, there is no standard mathemacal formula to calculate the strength of a parcular magnet.
Generally, magnets used in magnet therapy products range from 300 to 3000 Gauss.
8. WHAT IS TODAY'S MAGNET MADE OF?
The four most common types used in magnet therapy products are:
a) Flexible Magnec Rubber. Most used in shoe insoles. Material Gauss Rang: 2500 Gauss. On average, products made with this type of
material will measure 200 – 350 gausses on the surface, depending on the thickness of the material.
b) Ceramic. Most used in body wraps, pads, and cushions. Material Gauss Rang: Grade 8 – 4000 Gauss. On average ceramic magnets used
in magnet therapy products will measure 800-1100 gauss on the surface depending on the size of the magnet.
c) Neodymium. Most used in magnec jewelry and individually on pain triggers or acupuncture points. Material Gauss Rang: 12500 Gauss.
A typical neodymium magnet used as above will measure 1000-3500 gauss on the surface depending on its size.
d) Samarium Cobalt. Most used in good quality jewelry where rusng is to be avoided. An expensive magnet, very brile, therefore l
abor-intensive. Material Gauss Rang: 11,000 gausses. On average, a samarium cobalt magnet used in jewelry will measure
1000 – 2500 gauss depending on its size.
9. CAN YOU EXPLAIN NORTH POLE, SOUTH POLE, BIPOLAR?
Every magnet has a north and a south pole. In bio-magnec terms, the side of the magnet aracted to the earth's South Pole is designated as the
North Pole of the magnet. The side of the magnet aracted to the earth's North Pole is the South Pole of the magnet. In North America, reputable
magnec products are either North Pole or Bi-Polar. When a magnec product is called North Pole, all the magnets in the product are placed so
that the North Pole contacts the body. When a magnec product is called Bi-Polar, the magnets are arranged so that both North and
South Poles contact the body. The polaries are said to have the following effect:
North Pole: Calming, relaxing effect
South Pole: Smulang, acvang effect.
Cauon: Persons fied with pacemakers, defibrillators, implanted insulin pumps, or other electro-medical devices should keep magnec products
at least 18" (45cm) from the device. It is safe to wear or use magnec products while working on computers. However, it is recommended that
strong magnets do not come in DIRECT contact with data discs or cards containing a magnec strip. Pregnant women should consult their
health care professional before using magnec products.
Disclaimer: The informaon contained in these pages is not intended to provide or even infer medical advice. Serenity2000 does not claim that
magnet therapy provides a cure for any disease, condion, or disorder. Magnets should only be used for pain when a medical praconer has
diagnosed the cause. Pain is a warning signal that you should not ignore or try to treat yourself without medical consultaon.
Magnet therapy will work differently for everyone. Magnec devices of the right strength properly placed should produce improvement,
in various me frames, with varying results for each person.
