Thank you for purchasing a Thermo-Pond™ Perfect Climate Submersible Pond-Deicer. When
used properly your heater will maintain a hole in pond ice to help the proper gas exchange take
place helping to keep your pond healthy during those crucial winter months.

properly follow all directions and instructions may lead to electrical shock of fi re which could cause serious bodily injury.
USE INSTRUCTIONS
Read all instructions carefully. This is an electrical product,
pay special care to IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS.
The framework on the bottom side of your heater has

1/4" and 3/8" holes to insert tubing so your heater
can be used in combination with a air or water pump
to increase circulation.

De-Icer is designed to be used as a submersible pond
de-icer in ponds up to 300 gallons.
The best time to install your heater is before ice forms

on the surface of your pond.
Place heater in deepest part of your pond and run the

cord to a properly grounded outlet remembering to
protect cord from damage.

If ice has already formed on the surface of your pond
drill a hole in the ice with an ice auger, do not chop
through ice as the shock waves can damage or kill
your fi sh. Then place your heater through the hole and
run your cord to properly grounded outlet protecting
the cord from damage.
If you do not have access to and ice auger place a

large pan or bucket with water on the surface of the
ice. Place your heater into the container and plug the
heater into a properly grounded outlet. The heater will
heat the water and container melting a hole in the pond
ice. When a hole has been melted unplug the heater
and remove the container. Place the heater through the
hole and run the cord to a properly grounded outlet
protecting the cord from damage.
DETERMINING POND SIZE
Intended for use with ponds up to 300 gallons.
The formula used to determine the number of gallons of water in your
pond is length x width x average depth x 7.5. These measurements
must be in feet. Example: A pond that is 6'L x 4'W x 1.5' Average
Depth x 7.5 = 270 gallons.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should
always be followed including the following:
•
Have a qualifi ed electrician install a properly grounded
outlet, acceptable for outdoor use and protected from
snow and rain immediately adjacent to the location
where the heater will be used.
•
Route supply cord and locate the heater so as to be
protected from damage by livestock.
•
Do not use extension cords
•
Inspect cord before using. If the cord is damaged do not
use.
•
Unplug heater at receptacle outlet when not in use or
before removal from pond.
•
Store heaters indoors after the winter season.
•
Never walk on thin ice
Care Instructions:
After the winter season, wipe down your Thermo-Pond™ Submersible
Pond De-Icer with a damp cloth and store indoors in a clean dry
place. Always inspect your heater before use. If there are cracks in
the cord or the plug is damaged do not use. Discard immediately.
Consult your pond professional on tips for overwintering fi sh.
