LASHING BLOCKS TO KAYAK
1
Unroll the 9' straps. Run each of the straps through the drilled holes on each
block and go completely around the kayak and buckle tightly. Both blocks should
be secured to kayak.
LOADING KAYAK
2
Load the kayak onto the car (cockpit-up) centered on roof. Reposition blocks if
necessary, so that the weight is evenly distributed on each pad.
IMPORTANT!
clean and free of debris. On rainy days, be sure to cover exposed cockpit. Locate
blocks as close to the front and the rear of the car roof as possible.
OVER-THE-TOP STRAP
3
Unroll 15' center strap. Open the car doors on each side (rear doors of a 4 door
vehicle). Throw non-buckle end of center strap over the middle of the kayak letting
the end hang down on either side of the car. Pull the strap tight and run the ends
through the open doors on either side of the car. Buckle tightly on the inside of
car. The center strap can now be adjusted for tension without leaving the car.

the front of the kayak and wrap it around the carry handle twice with cambuckle
hanging downward towards the ground. (If your craft does not have a carry handle;
use a piece of rope and make a loop attached to the end of the craft). Take the
strap (without the buckle) from the opposite end of the bumper and bring it up
and through the hanging cambuckle. Pull it down until you see the tension and the
foam blocks compressing.

IMPORTANT USE & CARE TIPS
5
Limit transport distance to 250 miles. Clean the block and the roof surfaces
before use. Check the strap tension frequently. Keep the straps away from the
exhaust system and sharp or abrasive surfaces. Protect painted surfaces. Protect
painted surfaces from strap vibration. Ensure kayak does not touch car roof after
tightening straps.
SAFETY CHECK
6
After driving about five miles, stop and check to make sure the straps are still
tight and the kayak is secure on top of the car. Check to make sure no sharp or
abrasive surfaces touch straps.
PREVENTING STRAP HUM
7
If straps hum or buzz at high speeds, give strap a few twists or fold sides of the
strap together and secure with tape or a shielded garbage tie. This breaks up
wind vibration.
