Powering Sound Blaster X4:
To power on the Sound Blaster X4, simply connect it to your
computer via the provided USB cable.
Connecting your Headphones / Headsets and Microphone:

1. VOLUME CONTROL KNOB
Playback Volume
Turn the knob LEFT to decrease volume
level
Turn the knob RIGHT to increase volume
level
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Connection:
Press and hold to initiate Bluetooth pairing
The Bluetooth connection is reserved for device
control and Super X-Fi pro le upload only Audio
streaming is not available.

Press once to switch to microphone control
Once switched over, press the Volume
Control Knob once to mute the
microphone, and vice versa to unmute
Turn the knob left to decrease volume level

Audio Balance Feature
Press and hold the Microphone Control
Button to activate / deactivate the
Audio Balance feature
Turn the knob left to decrease the
volume level of Audio Source 1, and
increase the volume level of Audio
Source 2 (SPDIF Interface)
simultaneously
Turn the knob left to decrease the
volume level of Audio Source 2 (SPDIF
Interface), and increase the volume level
of Audio Source 1 simultaneously
The Audio Balance feature is available on PC, Mac,
PS5, and PS4 only. A HDMI to Optical converter
(not included) is required to access Audio Balance
on the PS5
3. MODE BUTTON / DIRECT
MODE
EQ Modes
Press to cycle through the three EQ
modes
When Super X-Fi is enabled, only EQ for SXFI
mode is available. The LED indicator will light up
in green.
Direct Mode
Press and hold the MODE button to
activate
When Direct Mode is activated, all other audio
effects, including Super X-FI, will be disabled.

Microphone Control
Press once to enable / disable Super X-Fi
effects
We recommend that you set up your personalized
Super X-Fi pro le via the SXFI App on your mobile
devices, and upload them to the Sound Blaster
for the full experience of Super X-Fi Headphone
Holography.
Line-out (Speakers) and Headphones
Switch
Press and hold to switch between Line-
Out (Speakers) and Headphones.
Without leaving your current screen, our Audio Balance feature allows you
to easily increase or decrease the volume levels of two audio sources
simultaneously—for example, your game's background music and your
voice chat—after a one-time setup.
1. Windows PC
After plugging in the Sound Blaster X4 to your PC via the USB-C cable,
follow these steps:
i. Settings > System > Sound > Sound Control Panel > Playback Tab > Sound
Blaster X4 > Right Click Speakers ... "Set As Default Device"
ii. Settings > System > Sound > Sound Control Panel > Playback Tab > Sound
Blaster X4 > Right Click Headset ... "Set As Default Communications
Device"
iii. Settings > System > Sound > Sound Control Panel > Playback Tab > Sound
Blaster X4 > Right Click Microphone ... "Set As Default Device"
2. macOS
After plugging in the Sound Blaster X4 to your Mac via the USB-C cable,
follow these steps:
i. System Preferences > Sound > Output > "Sound Blaster X4 Speakers"
ii. Under the Audio Output setting of the application that you want to use
Audio Balance with, set Default Output to "Sound Blaster X4 SPDIF Out"
3. PS5 / PS4
To set up the Audio Balance feature on your
PS5 or PS4, please refer to our dedicated
Creative Worldwide Support page for
Sound Blaster X4.
Download the Creative app to your Windows PC and access the Creative
app featuring the SmartComms Kit, a suite of smart communication
features to simplify the way you communicate, including auto mute via
VoiceDetect, and removing background noises on both sides of a conference
call with our noise cancellation features, NoiseClean-in and NoiseClean-out.
Follow these easy steps:
Start by downloading the Creative app from the Creative Worldwide
Support page (search for Sound Blaster X4) and install it onto your
Windows PC
Ensure that the Sound Blaster X4 is plugged into your PC
Access the SmartComms Kit module through the Creative app; make
sure that it is turned on
Voila, you're done!
For those who prefer to have more control over the features, whether it is to
readjust your environmental noise level or your mic mute delay timing,
check the Advanced box found inside the SmartComms Kit module on the
app.
Setting up your Super X-Fi pro le is simpler than it looks! Follow these
steps to create your pro le and upload it onto your Sound Blaster X4:
1. Download the SXFI App on your mobile device and register for a Super
X-Fi account. This account is different from your Creative Store account.
2. Create your Super X-Fi pro le via the SXFI App, select 'Personalize' via
the menu tab, and follow the guided Head and Ear-Mapping process.
3. Turn on Bluetooth on your mobile device.
4. Launch the SXFI App once more, and head to the 'Manage My Devices'
tab.
5. Select the discovered Sound Blaster X4 from the 'Available Wireless
SXFI Devices' list. The LED ring of Volume Knob on the Sound Blaster X4
will blink in white.
6. Press and hold the Volume Knob to establish the connection
7. Once connected, your Super X-Fi pro le will begin its upload onto the
Sound Blaster X4 automatically.
And you are done. You can toggle the Super X-Fi effects on and off directly
on the Sound Blaster X4, or control the feature from the Creative app.
To further boost your audio experience with the Sound Blaster X4, download
the Creative app from the Creative Worldwide Support page (search for
Sound Blaster X4) and onto your Windows platform.
The software allows you to customize your audio quickly for your speci c
needs, including Sound Blaster Acoustic Engine suite of enhancements like
Bass, Crystalizer, and Surround Virtualization.
And that's it, you're ready to go.

If you are connecting the Sound
Blaster X4 to your PS5, PS4,
and Nintendo Switch, download the
Creative app* on your mobile
devices from the Google Play Store or
iOS App Store, and control the
features via Bluetooth®.
*SmartComms Kit, Scout Mode, CrystalVoice, and
Sound Blaster Acoustic Engine features are not
available on Creative app for mobile devices.
^Used as a remote controller for Sound Blaster X4 on
PS5 / PS4 / Nintendo Switch only, does not support
Bluetooth audio streaming.
