All About Ten Frames:

The ten-frame model allows students to think of numbers in relation

to 10, which develops number sense and place-value skills. With the

ten frames and magnetic counters, students make representations for

numbers 1–10 , practice counting, develop addition and subtraction

combinations to 10, and much more.

The double ten-frame model allows students to develop number-

sense skills at an even higher level. With the double ten frame,

students model numbers from 1–20 . Students

can also make tens, visualize the teen numbers,

and practice addition and subtraction to 20.
