warranted.
-Not to be stored in compartments with flammable liquids (e.g., gas).
-Not to be installed in compartments designed for storing batteries and flammable liquids
This converter/charger is designed to convert 120 volts AC to 12 volts DC. It also provides low
voltage power for charging on-board 12 volt DC batteries.
Installation & Maintenance Instructions
1. Disconnect DC power. Disconnect the battery POS (+) wiring before connecting this
converter/charger to any vehicle/equipment wiring.
2.Mounting Location, Mounting location can be on any indoor (out of direct weather) surface. If
mounted in a cabinet, the cabinet must be large enough to dissipate heat. Make sure there is at
least 1 inch of free space at each end of the unit to allow cooling air to pass through the unit
properly. Avoid foreign contaminants such as dust, metal particles, or moisture.
3. For installation, flanges with holes are provided for ease of installation using standard fasteners.
Verify that the mounting surface of the converter is secure and can support 6 lbs with the vehicle
running.
4. Electrical Requirements, a 120-volt AC outlet is required within 36 inches of the
converter/charger to provide power. Consideration should also be given to installing electrical
equipment near the battery and 12-volt DC distribution panel.
5. Electrical connections, be sure to tighten all connections securely, loose connections can
quickly cause terminals and wires to overheat. Check the equipment label for recommended
terminal torque values.
6. Fan design, the fan will not run all the time, it is temperature controlled and will only run when
needed, do not leave the unit unattended when plugged in.
7. 120 VAC Connection - First verify that the 120 VAC power AC circuit breaker is in the OFF
position.Connect the vehicle/equipment chassis to the lugs on the converter/charger using
minimum size 8 AWG copper wire. It is important to use the correct wire gauge, terminals labeled
+ or Pos are for the RV 12 VDC positive connection, terminals labeled - or NEG are for the RV 12
VDC negative connection
NOTE: The 12 VDC output wiring does not require overcurrent protection because the
converter/charger limits the current output. However, all electrical connections must meet the
appropriate NEC codes.
8.4 Stage Charging Mode:
This is the factory setting when the Smart Charge Mode is "On" and the output voltage is preset
to 14.6V/13.6V and 13.2V.
Description: This mode provides a three-step automatic charging system.
① Rapid charging ("Boost") to quickly restore a depleted battery to full voltage.
② Standard Charge, which brings the battery to full capacity at a safe rate to extend battery life
