Description of the appliance

Overview

OPERATING METHOD

  1. Fill the bottle warmer's measuring cup (c) and then pour the contents into the tank (f ).
  2. Never warm up a bottle directly in the bottom of the aluminium tank. Always use the tray (a).
    To heat baby food jars (without the lid) use the tray (a).
    To warm bottles (slightly loosened ring), use the tray (a).
  3. If the bottle's diameter allows it, add the heating accelerator ring (b) to the tank (f).

    Tigex tip
    In order to avoid spreading bacteria, prepare and heat bottles and baby food jars just before meal time. Never keep an unfinished bottle.
  4. HOME USE

    Plug in the appliance at the mains using the mains cable (g). Turn the switch at the back of the appliance to the Home position.
    CAR USE

    Connect the car adapter lead (h) into the back of the appliance and flick the switch at the back into the Car position. Then connect the lead (h) into your car's cigar-lighter.
  5. Press the ON switch (d) to start the warming cycle. The light will be activated (e ).

    The ON switch (d) cannot be used to turn the appliance off.
    The appliance will turn off automatically once the warming cycle is complete.


    The steam that is released during heating is very hot. Do not put your hand close to the appliance while it is in use.
  6. Without delaying, carefully remove the bottle or baby food jar and then turn the switch at the back of the appliance to the OFF position.
    You may now unplug the appliance.
    For a bottle: screw the ring back on properly and then shake well to ensure even distribution of the contents. Pour a few drops of the liquid on to the back of your hand to test the temperature.
    For a baby food jar: stir the contents and test the temperature. Make sure that the appliance has cooled down before cleaning it or putting it away.

Cleaning the bottle warmer

Always unplug the appliance and wait for it to completely cool down before cleaning.
Use a damp cloth to clean the inside and outside of the tank (f). Never immerse the tank (f) in water.
Do not use abrasive products.
The baby food jar tray (a), heating accelerator ring (b) and measuring cup (c) can be cleaned with a sponge using soap and water or put into the top tray of a dishwasher.

Descaling the tank:
Depending on the quality of the water used, a limescale deposit may build up on the bottom of the tank (f) over time.
Regularly descale your appliance by pouring a mixture consisting of 100ml of water and 100ml of white vinegar into the tank (f). Leave for around 30 minutes before emptying the tank (f) and wiping it with a damp cloth.
Do not use detergents.

INSTRUCTIONS THAT MUST BE OBEYED

Please read these instructions carefully before use. Keep them in a safe place in case you need them for future reference.

  • Before using the appliance for the first time, check that it is compatible with the voltage of your electricity system.
  • Always put the bottle warmer on a flat, dry surface out of the reach of children.
  • Remember that there is no substitute for proper adult supervision.
  • Bottles must be placed in the tank, with the ring slightly loosened.
  • Baby food jars should be heated with their lids removed.
  • It is recommended to refrain from warming food for long periods.
  • Never turn the appliance on without having filled up the tank with required amount of water (use water that contains no additives).
  • Let the appliance cool for 15 minutes between uses. Do not touch the inside of the tank during, or just after, use.
  • Do not forget to unplug the appliance after use.
  • Never immerse the appliance in water.
  • In the event of malfunction, do not disassemble the appliance, even to change a damaged lead. It must be repaired by our staff with special tools to ensure safety.
  • Children should not be allowed to play with the device. Cleaning and maintenance of the device should not be carried by unsupervised children.
  • It is essential to supervise children to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • If the lead suffers any damage, it must be repaired by the manufacturer, the after-sales services or a qualified person in order to ensure it is done so safely.
  • Do not disassemble the appliance yourself.
  • Do not use the appliance outdoors. This appliance is designed to be used at home or in an equivalent place, such as staff kitchens, offices, shops or other working environments, farms, hotels or accommodation.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 3 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and above and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 3 years.
  • Appliance can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Children shall not play with the appliance.
  • Avoid spillage on the connector
  • Heating element surface is subject to residual heat after use

For use in cars:

  • In car configuration, the equipment should be powered by a 12 V supply, Extra Low Safety Voltage, using the adapter cable supplied."
  • Never use the bottle warmer when the car is moving. Keep your engine running while the bottle warmer is working to avoid discharging your battery.
  • The car adapter lead (j) is specially designed for this Tigex bottle warmer: never use it with other appliances. Only use the leads provided.
  • Regularly check the state of the cigar-lighter and clean it when necessary.
  • If you have just used your cigar-lighter, let it cool for about 5 minutes in the open position before connecting your bottle warmer.
