    The operator must prevent unauthorised access to the Curb Charger and other networks or systems. Only the company network or the Internet should be accessed if necessary and only after appropriate protective measures (e.g. firewalls and / or network segmentation) have been taken. Rheinmetall recommends installing software updates as soon as they are available and only using the latest software versions. Outdated or no longer supported versions increase the risk of cyber threats.

In addition to the mains meter, a residual current device (RCD: type A, type A EV, type B or type B+) and a miniature circuit breaker (MCB: recommended 3 × 32 A with C characteristic) are also required for each system in the meter connection column or the house connection box to protect the systems.

On the right-hand side you can see the empty pipe installed with a gradient, which will be used for the supply line at a later date. f Make sure that the empty pipes end in the frost protection layer.

    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CURB CHARGER, GEN 1.1 05 / 2025 V01.01 ENGLISH Connecting electronic modules and putting them into operation General High electrical power must be available for charging electric vehicles over a long period of time. The installation of the Curb Charger must meet the performance requirements. To ensure that these requirements are implemented correctly, these installation instructions are intended for trained and instructed electrically skilled persons. Qualified electrically skilled persons are responsible for safety during installation and correct acceptance for subsequent use by the operator and end user.

To insert the SIM card: f Insert the SIM card correctly into the SIM card slot. ATTENTION SIM card slot Damage caused by using an adapter f To avoid damaging the SIM card slot, use a micro SIM card without an adapter.

    Connect the electronic module to your configuration device via the USB socket. After connection, the charge controller is recognised as a USB network adapter. The web interface for configuration (see Fig. 30) can be accessed with a standard browser. The charge controller uses the local IP address 192.168.123.123 with the subnet mask 255.255.255.0 via the USB configuration interface. The connected device automatically receives a corresponding IP address via the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) after the connection is established.     If there is no DHCP server, it is possible to assign a host address from the 192.168.124.x subnet to a PC. The charging system is accessed via the IP address 192.168.124.123.     OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CURB CHARGER, GEN 1.1 05 / 2025 V01.01 ENGLISH 7.2.11 Load management Under certain circumstances, it may be necessary to reduce the charging capacity to less than 22 kW, as the maximum charging capacity is limited by the capacity of the building connection, local conditions and normative and legal requirements. The load management of the Curb Charger intelligently controls the charging capacity of the charging points and prevents network overloads.

When the plug is unlocked, the marking must be parallel to the front side of the Curb Charger unit.
  • Page 52 Check the thread for the safety screws for soiling. f If the thread is soiled: clean the thread. f Remove the mounting blocks and lower the electronic module so that the system is flush with the Curb Charger unit (see Fig. 35). As an alternative to the RFID card, authentication can also be carried out via an app (e.g. from the operator) and a QR code attached to the device. If authorisation is successful, the LED flashes blue rapidly. To do this, guide the plug vertically from the front towards the closure cap. There is a nose on the front of the closure cap that can be inserted into the opening on the top of the plug.

    Procedure for ending the charging process on the vehicle 1. To do this, unlock and remove the charging plug on the vehicle. You will find instructions for this in your vehicle manual. 2. The charging process is ended. The blue status LED briefly changes to yellow and then to green. 3. The green status LED indicates that the charging plug on the Curb Charger is unlocked and can be removed. 4.
