Lowering the engine speed to idle the engine will help extend the life of the engine, as well as conserve fuel and reduce the noise level of the machine.
USER GUIDE MAINTENANCE A proper maintenance and lubrication will help the machine in a perfect working condition. Preventive maintenance • Turn off engine and disengage all control levers. Engine must be cool. • Inspect the general condition of the unit. Check for loose screws, misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or broken parts, and any other condition that may affect its safe operation.

Some of the most common hazards are discussed below, along with the best way to protect yourself and others.
USER GUIDE ENGINE MANUAL HOT EXHAUST The exhaust becomes very hot during operation and remains hot for a while after stopping the engine. Be careful not to touch the exhaust while it is hot. Let the engine cool before storing it indoors. To prevent fire hazards and to provide adequate ventilation for stationary equipment applications, keep the engine at least 3 feet (1 meter) away from building walls and other equipment during operation.

USER GUIDE ENGINE MANUAL CONTROLS FUEL VALVE LEVER The fuel valve opens and closes the passage between the fuel tank and the carburettor. The fuel valve lever must be in the ON position for the engine to run. When the engine is not in use, leave the fuel valve lever in the OFF position to prevent carburettor flooding and to reduce the possibility of fuel leakage.

Warm oil drains quickly and completely. • Place a suitable container below the engine to catch the used oil, and then remove the filler cap/dipstick and the drain plug.
