These assembly and operating instructions describe the safe use of the
PRS-30 bicycle repair stand ("repair stand"). It contains important safety
instructions that must be observed. Please read these assembly and oper-
ating instructions carefully and observe all safety instructions.
These assembly and operating instructions must be made available to all
persons who work on and with the repair stand.
The PRS-30 is designed to ease the burden of lifting and lowering heavy
bikes, in a form factor no larger than a traditional bicycle repair stand.
Please read instructions carefully and completely before assembling the
PRS-30. All users should read and understand the safety precautions and
operating instructions before use.
Warnings and Warning Symbols Used
In these assembly and operating instructions, the following danger levels
are used to identify possible dangerous situations and important safety in-
structions:
A potentially dangerous situation that could result in death or serious in-
jury if not avoided.
A dangerous situation that could result in minor or moderate injury if not
avoided.
Safety Practices
• Read all safety, assembly and operating instructions carefully before
starting work.
• Keep these assembly and operating instructions available for others.
• Understand and follow all safety, assembly, and operating instructions.
• Failure to follow safety, assembly and operating instructions could re-
sult in death or serious injury to persons and damage to property.
General Safety Warnings
• Use common sense, stay alert and understand all assembly, operation
and safety instructions.
The PRS-30 is designed to lift bicycles off the ground and hold them in
place during maintenance and repair. Do not use it for any other purpose.
• Do not stand on or hang on the repair stand.
Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of 120 lbs. (54 kg).
Danger of falling over or down. Ensure that the repair stand is on a stable
level indoor surface.
Danger of being pulled in, caught or gripped by the spindle drive system.
• Do not modify or remove parts from the repair stand.
• Do not interfere or wear anything that could get caught in moving parts.
• Keep the work area around the repair stand clean and free of clutter.

Avoid crushing or impact injuries. Make sure people are kept at a safe
distance from the repair stand during use.
Do not operate the PRS-30 while under the influence of drugs, alcohol or
medication.
Danger from falling bike if incorrectly attached.
Risk of minor injuries from dangerous surfaces.
Risk of tripping and falling on repair stand legs or base.
Regularly inspect the repair stand and repair or replace worn or damaged
parts before use.
Assembling the PRS-30
Basic assembly is required before the stand is ready for use. Carefully unpack
the PRS-30 box and inspect each part for damage. Check for loose parts be-
fore discarding box (note that the PRS-30 box may contain filler packaging).
Compare parts with the part list on schematic diagram. If any part is missing
or damaged, contact Park Tool Co. at info@parktool.com or (+1) 651-777-6868.
Do not attempt to assemble or use the PRS-30 until the missing or damaged
part is correctly replaced.

Tools required for assembly (not supplied):
• Hex wrenches—4 mm, 6 mm, and 8 mm
• 10 mm open-end wrench
• Torque wrench capable of 13 Nm (Newton meters)
A. Place the upright assembly (#1) upright on the ground. Attach the crank
(#13) to the drive shaft (#39) of the upright and turn clockwise until the
lower bearing (#48) is 2-3 inches (5-7 cm) from the mounting plate.
Steps B–F: PRS-30 (Stand with Leg Assembly) Only
B. Place the upright assembly on a workbench with the mounting plate
hanging over the edge, oriented as shown in the diagram.
C. Align the right leg (#10) with the mounting holes and loosely install the
bolts (#6), washers (#7), and nuts (#8). Do not tighten any nuts or bolts
until the wheel plate is installed. Repeat the process with the left leg
(#11), ensuring that the legs are properly interlocked.
D. Align the wheel plate assembly (#9) with the wheels facing the bottom
of the stand, and install the bolts, washers, and nuts.
E. Tighten all mounting nuts and bolts for the wheel plate and legs, using a 4
mm hex wrench and 10 mm open-end wrench. Torque to 13 Newton meters.
F. Install the leg end caps (#12) onto both ends of both legs. Note that the
end caps are offset to help with leveling on uneven floors.
Step G: PRS-30LB (Stand without Leg Assembly) Only
G. Rotate base support upright (#1) until the holes marked with 3 align cor-
rectly with holes in #130 base (sold separately). The stamped arrow will
point towards the center of the base. Attach base support upright to
