This warranty will begin after the manufacturer’s standard 2-year warranty is exhausted, thus adding comprehensive coverage for each model to 5 years from purchase date.

    1 Introduction The PowerMaster® 8813 is a true 3-phase training simulator for metering technicians to help improve their troubleshooting skills for applications encountered in the field. The Model 8813 provides a safe, controlled environment to help the trainee accelerate their education in meter testing and wiring verification.

When switched on, the Load Box, Model 8851 distribution box, rack cooling, and all other circuitry are powered on. Emergency Stop The Emergency Stop will eliminate the power provided to all meter sockets and is meant to be used during an emergency situation.

The display is touchscreen and is powered by an integrated personal computer. Computer Peripherals Each test bench includes (1) USB wireless mouse and (1) USB wireless keyboard as alternative peripherals to the PC’s embedded touchscreen.

    Distribution Box (Model 8860) The Model 8860 is used in tandem with the Load Box to allow the Model 8813 Test Bench to simulate errors commonly found in the field. Load Box The Load Box provides 3-phase current and voltage to power the meter sockets on the bench.     3.2.1 Login When the test bench is powered up, the user can login using the credentials defined in the Model 8843 Training Administrator Station (TAS). Note that the Model 8843 Training Administrator Station (TAS) must be powered up and logged in by the Admin before logging into the Bench Touchscreen Interface.

    When the scenario begins, the Trainee will see a dynamic screen that communicates to the user the designated meter form and service, the status of the load box, and the time elapsed during the scenario. The intention is that the Trainee is not aware of the actual scenario and provides a learning experience for the user to hone troubleshooting skills.

    4 Model 8843 Training Administrator Station (TAS) The Training Administrator Station (TAS), which can pair up to four Model 8813 and/or Model 8813 training benches, is a remote controller that uses a touchscreen Microsoft tablet communicating over a closed WIFI network.

    4.2 User Management After the master Administrator is created and logged in, users can now be created. There are three levels of users to choose from. Administrator An Administrator has all rights enabled and is the only user that can operate the Model 8843 Training Administrator Station (TAS) and its associated functions.

    4.2.2 User Management Screen Overview Username This field is meant for the user’s name or nickname. 16 character limit. Required field. Enabled When the check is visible, the user can login to the touchscreen PC on the bench. If the Enabled is unchecked, the user cannot login.

    4.3 Main Interface (Home Screen) Company Logo Bench and Emergency Scenario Stop Info Emergency Function Stop All Active Keys Benches The Model 8813 display allows the user to select the meter form and error scenario to simulate for each metering service. Each section represents a test bench and information associated while the bench is either active or inactive.

    To begin, on the TAS, click on the active test bench. Next, click on the Manual Drive tab and adjust values. The up/down arrows will display next to the values. The user can now press the buttons to allow the value to increase or decrease by one increment (volt or amp) per button push.

    4.6.1 Scenario Evaluation Screen Overview After the scenario is complete, the Admin has the ability to “Pass” or “Fail” the Trainee/Technician for their performance after the scenario is complete. For any issue that is considered to be no fault of the Trainee/Technician, like an emergency stop, the Admin can click on “Not Fault”. Each scenario and the Trainee/Technician’s performance is recorded and saved in a database.

    5 Error Scenarios The following Error Scenarios are helpful in teaching the user possible situations that can be found in the field and could lead to a revenue loss. The Model 8813 will allow the user to simulate particular scenarios, and the PowerMaster will display results the user will see when an error is detected.
