  • Page 2 Thank you for purchasing your Durston Guillotine. With the correct care and use it will last many years and possibly a lifetime. The Durston Guillotine is unlike any other guillotine on the market. It has been designed to have the utmost ease of use. Set the back stop, slide in the material, and cut.
  • Page 3 Assembly You will need to assemble your guillotine before use - see unpacking leaflet. Check that you have all parts as listed on the Parts Breakdown. Place front face down on a flat surface and assemble as follows 2. Align the Back Stop with the back of the Guillotine. Insert the two M6x30 Cap Screws and tighten using the 5mm Allen Key.

  • Page 5 Back Stop should be flat to the blade. Loosen the two screws using 2.5mm Allen key. Do not fully remove them. Slide the indicator marker plate until the edge is at “0” on the ruler.     User Instructions Parts Breakdown How to use the Guillotine First we assume that you have read the Durston Guillotine Instructions and have assembled the Guillotine correctly and have it firmly fixed to a bench or a stand. If it is bolted to a Durston stand this must be bolted to the floor. The Durston Guillotine can cut up to 1.5mm Non Ferrous materials and 0.5mm soft steels.
  • Page 7 How to do a straight cut First make sure the Angle Bar is set to 0° as shown below Next place material to be cut on the Support Table. If you know how much you want to cut off you will need to set the Back Stop. Move the Back Stop to the required depth and lock it with the lock nut.
  • Page 8 Now slide the material up to the Back Stop Bar then operate the Operating Handle in a Clockwise direction looking at the front of the Guillotine you should feel the material being cut. If you are cutting the material to a line you need to look at the Bottom Blade from above and slide the material until the line on the material lines up with the Bottom Blade.
  • Page 9 How to do an angle cut using the Angle Bar First set the Angle Bar to the required angle and tighten the Knurled Nut. Knurled Nut Place material against the Angle Bar, slide to the required depth of cut, then operate the Operating Handle to cut the material.
