The „VOSS.PET Shock Mat" emits light, harmless electric pulses.
By touching two wires on the surface of the mat, the circuit is closed and a pulse is emitted.
The „VOSS.PET Shock Mat" offers three different training options for teaching your pet the desired behaviour.
You set the mode by briefly pressing the MODE button.
The operation mode has to be reselected after switching the device off/on.
NOTE:
Select the setting of the control unit according to the size of your pet. LOW is suitable for small and young cats, MEDIUM is suitable for adult cats and small dogs, HIGH can be used for long-haired cats, large dogs and at door entrances, when training the pet not to enter a particular room.
Pets with harder foot pads or higher insulation due to thicker fur require higher settings.
Use the electronic pet training mat where your pet is not supposed to rest (on tables, sofas, chairs, kitchen worktops, etc.). Alternatively, you can block your pet from accessing a specific area by using the mat. For example, by placing the mat in front of the door to a room or facing a specific object. In order to train your pet not to go through a specific entrance, we recommend that you keep the door slightly ajar to prevent the animal from running over the mat too fast.
You can also use a large object, for example, a box or a chair as an obstacle. Important is that the door is not closed.
Most pets learn quickly to avoid this area and you can remove the mat soon.
The training mat can also be used on automobile hoods, roofs and trunks.
Please note: in humid conditions the mat may leave marks on some vehicle surfaces.
Therefore, always put a cloth under the training mat when used on a vehicle.
Note: Only suitable for application in a garage or a carport. Do not use outdoors!
The mat operates according to the principle of positive and negative reinforcement.
Your pet will learn to avoid the mat after hearing a sound. TONE + IMPULSE stimulation or IMPULSE stimulation (without sound) (negative reinforcement). Your pet will soon learn to avoid the „VOSS.PET Shock Mat" and feel more comfortable (positive reinforcement).
In some cases, it is not essential to train your pet. The pet will learn to recognize its new boundaries itself.
Observe how your pet behaves in the beginning. Normally, pets learn very quickly.
However, the learning process may take longer. Do not give up if unsuccessful immediately on the first day.
It can take 2 to 4 days until your pet has learned to avoid the electromat.
A built-in safety function turns off the IMPULSE stimulation when your pet is longer than 7 seconds on the mat. The mat will turn on again after 3 seconds.
If your pet is confused or unsure and does not know how to behave, there are some things you can try:
Never use force to get your pet on the mat.
The mat is very durable and can be used with correct care for many years. It is water-repellent, cold-resistant up to -18°Celsius and UV-resistant. The mat is not damaged if stepped on.
Please note:
The mat should be stored as you received it. This prevents accidental folding and bending of the inner conductive wires. If the mat is not properly stored, the warranty claim is no longer valid.
The mat is water resistant but not waterproof. If the control unit becomes too wet, it stops working. It must then be dried before use. DO NOT immerse the control unit in water.
At lower temperatures, below approx. 15°C, it is possible that the mat becomes a little wavy. This does not hinder its function. When the temperature rises, it will become flat again.
If the batteries' voltage drops below 2.8 V, the device will start to „beep" and the LEDs will flash consecutively. The device is no longer operational. Batteries must be replaced.
