    Notice About Using An External USB CD-Rewriter Maintain The Device Performance If you want to maintain the CD-Rewriter’s better performance, we recommend you connecting only one of the CD-Rewriter to your computer at a time. However, there is an extreme reduction in performance when two or more of fast USB devices (such as CD-ROM, CD-Writer, scanners, printers and hard drive) are used simultaneously.

    Recommended System Configurations The system requirements listed below are recommended for ensuring consistent writing performance. Š  Operating system: Windows 98 or higher Š RAM: 32 MB or larger. Š CPU: Pentium 166 MHz or above Š Hard disc drive: Minimum 50 MB of free space for installing software. 750 MB free HD is needed when duplicating a CD through HD (10 MB free space for each minute of recorded music).

    Installation Hardware Installation Installation procedure Turn on your computer and enter the Windows 98SE/ 2000/ ME operating system. Connect the AC transformer to the CD-Rewriter and the power outlet. Power outlet Turn on the power. And the power indicator should be on at this time. Off On Power indicator Connect the CD-Rewriter to the PC’s USB slot with a USB cable.
  • Page 10 Once you finish the above steps, the system will automatically detect the presence of the CD-Rewriter. Please finish the driver’s installation according to the computer’s instruction (the driver software is on the attached 1.44MB disk). After rebooting, the computer system will automatically recognize the CD-Rewriter. (Additional software programs, provided with the product, can be installed.

    CD writing software installation Before you start… Please understand that CD recording is a non-interruptible process. Therefore, a stable recording environment is a must. It is the best condition, if you have a HDD only for CD recording purpose. That is, in this HDD, only Windows 98SE or higher and the necessary software are installed, nothing else.

    Operation Instructions Load a CD disc Š Press the eject button on the CD-ReWriter front panel and the tray will eject automatically. Š Put the CD disc in the tray with the labeled side up. Š Press the eject button or slightly push on the front of the tray to close the tray. When a CD disc is loaded, you should be able to read files properly on the disc within a program.
