    1. Introduction Magnetic fields influence the accuracy of mechanical watches, which may cause them to run fast or slow. It is advisable to demagnetise after each overhaul or cleaning of the mechanism, whether assembled or disassembled. Tools used on workbenches such as screwdrivers, hand levers, tweezers, etc., can also be a source of magnetism. Therefore, it is recommended to demagnetise them periodically.
