GBS self-locking panic lock shall be installed after finishing the construction work otherwise there would be the risk that the bolts
get damaged by improper manipulation.
A proper function of the lock can be reached in combination with a correctly adjusted door closer (e.g. ECO TS-61 or ECO TS-41).
It must be ensured that at the entry point of the auxiliary latch the strike plate or the steel clamp has a radius of at least R2
and is closed in the area of the auxiliary latch release.
The deadbolt must reject at the strike plate without mechanical friction after closing the door.
The gap between door leaf and strike plate shall be between 2-5mm. The door leaf and frame must be mechanically stable.
For the special version some connecting cables are required that must be delivered at site / strand max. cross section of 1.5mm
Attention! Please pay attention to the max. cable diameter when using cable transfers.
The cables must be pulled through a flexible wire protection between frame and door leaf towards the lockcase so that a cable
reserve is available when e.g. taking the lock out of the door or re-pulling the cable.
The cable cross section must be chosen correctly, in case of a voltage drop no undercutting of the supply voltage takes place
(see data sheet).
The lock hole section must be cutted properly so that no big free-play nor a bias voltage can happen.
On the lock may not be filed nor bored.
The warranty expires if the lockcase is opened.
2. Lock model control and application features
The application features with the following lock models must be compared before the self-locking panic lock is installed.
The GBS 90 - AVP is in accordance to the installation dimensions of DIN 18251. Standard DIN cylinder and handles can be used.
The lock contains in the standard version of a self-locking mechanism that rejects the deadbolt automatically with the support of the
auxiliary latch.
The standard model of this lock can be equipped with additional features so that a usage with access control systems is possible.
For the GBS 90 - AVP the following criteria's apply for the standard model:
- The distance (between handle hub and profile cylinder, see picture 1) is 72mm.
- The backset (distance between forend and profile cylinder, see picture 2) is either 55 or 65mm.
- The door element can be rebated or unrebated. The forend width is usually 24mm for unrebated and 20mm for rebated doors.
See more details on picture 2.
- The position of the door hinges defines the model "DIN left" or "DIN right". The side of the door where the hinges are visible
indicates the DIN direction of the lock. For instance if the hinges are installed and visible on the left side, a DIN L lock is used.
Refer to picture 3.
The following special functions are available and will be directly build into the lock (see data sheet):
- Dead bolt monitoring (micro switch for deadbolt on/off)
- Blocked handle both sides or single side with fail safe or fail secure. Attention! Blocked handle side can't be turned.
- Nut sensing (microswitch for handle actuation)
- Panic function E is only guaranteed if the lever handle is only locked on one side
- With special function 03/04 the lock has no panic function
- Change to 24V DC (standard 12V DC)
- Round forend (standard square)
- Hole for round cylinder diameter 22mm (attention! Distance = 74mm)
