  • Page 11 T10233_EN_A FB9500 Pro Operator Manual Introduction Introduction to ColorCut Pro Software To cut your projects with the ColorCut FB9500 cutter, you need to be able to design your artwork and then apply lines that you designate for cutting, creasing, scoring or perforating. Projects and artwork can be created using either Adobe Illustrator on Mac or PC, or CorelDRAW on PC.

Adding a Job Number will automatically add the Cut file to the ColorCut Pro Job library, thereby enabling the job to be cut using ColorCut Pro - Produc tion Studio software (detailed below), either on the directly by using the same computer or a different computer and also enables the job to be cut in held mode and stored on a USB drive within the cutter itself.

With some types of media it may be necessary to increase or decrease the brightness of the illuminated area, particularly with porous substrates like rice paper, or reflective/foiled materials.

This shouldn’t happen on a flatbed due to the suction. Another reason to use Smart Tags is to keep the elements inside the media, making transportation easier after cutting and reducing the mess produced.

ColorCut Pro - Production Studio is the full version of ColorCut Pro, and is used to cut your files. It can be used in two different ways, you can select the most suitable method for your working environment.

Calibration should be completed prior to setting up new media.

Among the settings there are several that are important to understand to get the best results from your ColorCut cutter.

    T10233_EN_A FB9500 Pro Operator Manual Blade Adjustment The ColorCut series of cutters use a contour-cutting blade (sometimes referred to as a ‘drag knife’) to accurately cut shapes. The blade revolves/rotates around its centre as the carriage moves following the cutting path and as the Tool Carriage changes direction.

Nominally the standard Yellow, Red and Blue blades that are 1 mm (0.04”), use a 0.25 mm (0.01”) Knife offset, while the 1.5 mm (0.06”) larger Circlip blades use a 0.75 mm (0.03”) Knife Offset.

The Vison3 ARMS sensor uses an high quality CCD camera to automatically detect Registration Marks (PageMARKs), enabling accurate cutting using ColorCut Pro.

In addition by scanning each QR Code, ColorCut Pro, will detect if a sheet has been accidentally loaded in the wrong orientation, or rotated around 180 degrees, and automatically rotate your cutting file to match the way you loaded the sheet.

Although the design and registration marks are printed on one side, the cutting and creasing operations are performed on the reverse side.

The PageMARKs are automatically placed on your artwork by ColorCut Pro’s Add Pagemarks option. They are placed on all 4 corners of a rectangle that is typically surrounding the cut lines. The PageMARKs can be placed at a fixed position on the page, or anywhere on the page as long as it surrounds your design.
