Introduction This Comsol USB 2.0 HDD Enclosure 3.5” provides an easy to carry and flexible interface solution. The device supports USB 2.0 standard interface, which enables you to easily connect it to a Desktop PC or Notebook without opening the cover. -
Page 4: Hardware Installation
HARDWARE INSTALLATION Installation Tips • For all existing 3.5” hard drives, please make sure the jumper setting on the 3.5” hard drive is set to “Master” mode before installing into the enclosure. Do not set the jumper to “Slave” or “Cable Select”... - Page 5 Step 3. Carefully, mount the 3.5” hard drive to the inner case. Make sure the four “Hard Drive Secure Pins” on the sides of the inner case are securely locked on to the hard drive. Step 4. Align the IDE connector on the PCB to the 3.5” hard drive’s interface. Gently push it into the hard drive’s interface.
- Page 6 Step 7. Gently mount the back panel on to the 3.5” enclosure. Make sure the two levers are securely locked on to the back panel. Step 8. Locate the “Back Plate” from the accessories. Step 9. Align the “Back Plate” to the back panel and gently push it in to place as illustrated below.

Windows 98/98SE does not include a USB Mass Storage driver so you need to install the provided Windows 98/98SE driver. Simply run SETUP.EXE in \UHD-3542 3.5 HDD Enclosure\driver\DRIVERTRAYICON\ folder of the Driver CD before connecting the 3.5” enclosure to the USB 2.0 port.
