Your child will also learn a word that begins with each of the 26 letters of the alphabet. For the letters A, E, I, O, and U, two words will be taught to represent both the long and short vowel sounds of those letters.

Your child will recognize that the letters of the alphabet are arranged in a certain order. He or she will have opportunities to tell which letter comes before or after certain letters.
