Read and understand all warnings and cautions before using this product.
WARNING
Using batteries improperly can cause them to leak harmful solutions, overheat, or explode which may
damage property or cause personal injury. Do not ignore the following warnings.
• Only use the batteries specified in this instruction manual.
• Do not install the batteries with the polarity (+/–) reversed.
• Do not use batteries which show wear or damage.
• Do not expose batteries to fire, high temperatures, water, or moisture.
• Do not attempt to short or disassemble batteries.
• Do not store batteries near or in metallic products.
• Do not mix batteries of different types, brands, or ages, or charge levels.
• When recharging rechargeable batteries, only use the recommended charger.
• Do not use leaking batteries. If fluid from the batteries enters your eye, immediately rinse the eye
with plenty of fresh water and contact a doctor. If fluid from the batteries makes contact with your
skin or clothing, wash the area thoroughly with water.
• Tape over battery contacts to avoid short-circuiting during disposal; always follow local regulations
for battery disposal.
• Do not disassemble this product. Electric shock may cause injury if a high voltage circuit inside the
product is touched.
• Keep batteries or small parts that could be swallowed away from infants. Contact a doctor immedi-
ately if an object is swallowed.
• Store this product out of reach of children. Be careful when around children, not to harm them with
the product or parts.
• If the product emits a strange oder, heat, or smoke, discontinue use. Immediately remove the bat-
teries taking care not to burn yourself, as batteries become hot with use. The continued use of a
damaged product or part may cause injuries.
• Take the product to a Konica Minolta Service Facility when repairs are required.
• Do not use these products in a humid environment, or operate them with wet hands. If liquid enters
these products, immediately remove the battery and discontinue use. The continued use of a prod-
uct exposed to liquids may cause damage or injury through fire or electric shock.
• Do not use or store these products in a hot or humid environment such as the glove compartment
or trunk of a car. It may damage the product which may result in burns or injuries caused by heat,
fire, explosion, or leaking battery fluid.
• Do not lift the product by the cap on the guide bar. The product could be dropped resulting in injury.

INSERTING THE BATTERIES
The following types of batteries are compatible with this
product.
2 or 1 NP-400 lithium-ion batteries
6 AA-size Ni-MH rechargeable batteries
• Lithium-ion batteries are recommended because of longer life.
• When using lithium-ion or Ni-MH batteries, fully recharge them
with a battery charger suitable for complex electric equipment.
• Only use the batteries specified in this instruction manual
Improper operation or damage may result.
• If you are installing batteries with the camera attached to the
VC-7D, turn off the camera and slide the grip-control switch on
the VC-7D to "LOCK" before installing.
1. Slide the battery-chamber lock in the direction indi-
cated to open the battery pack.
2. Push the battery latch down to release the battery
insert.
3. Remove the insert.
4. Insert the lithium-ion batteries or AA-size battery
insert as shown on the diagram on door of the bat-
tery case.

REMOVING THE LITHIUM-ION BATTERY

(1) Push the battery latch down to release the lithium-ion batteries.
• Take care not to drop the battery when the latch is released. The battery
may sping out of the chamber.

Thank you for purchasing the Vertical Control Grip VC-7D. Exclusively designed for the Minolta
Maxxum/Dynax 7D, this product provides a sure grip and comfortable handling when taking verti-
cally-framed pictures. The VC-7D also allows the camera to be powered by one or two NP-400
lithium-ion batteries, or 6 AA Ni-MH batteries.

• Usate solo batterie del tipo indicato in questo libretto di istruzioni.
• Non inserite le batterie con le polarità (+/-) invertite.
• Non usate batterie che presentino segni di deterioramento.
• Proteggete le batterie dal fuoco e dalle alte temperature, dall'acqua e dall'umidità.
• Non cercate mai di ricaricare o smontare le batterie.
• Non riponete le batterie vicino o all'interno di oggetti metallici.
• Non usate batterie di tipo, marca o età diversa fra loro.
• Per ricaricare batterie ricaricabili, utilizzate solo l'unità di ricarica dedicata.
• Non usate batterie con segni di screpolature. Se l'acido contenuto nelle batterie dovesse venire a
contatto con gli occhi, lavate immediatamente la parte con acqua corrente e contattate un medico;
se dovesse invece entrare in contatto con la pelle o con gli abiti, lavate bene la parte con acqua
corrente.
• Proteggete i contatti delle batterie al litio con nastro adesivo prima di eliminarle; attenetevi
scrupolosamente alle norme vigenti nel vostro paese sullo smaltimento delle batterie.
• Non smontate mai l'apparecchio. Toccando il circuito ad alto voltaggio all'interno dell'apparecchio,
potreste prendere la scossa.
• Non lasciate batterie o altri oggetti di piccole dimensioni alla portata di bambini, perché potrebbero
ingoiarli. Se ciò dovesse malauguratamente verificarsi, consultate immediatamente un medico.
• Riponete l'apparecchio fuori dalla portata dei bambini. Fate attenzione quando la utilizzate vicino ai
bambini e non permettete loro di maneggiarlo.
• Se l'apparecchio dovesse emettere uno strano odore, calore o fumo, interrompetene subito l'uso.
Estraete immediatamente le batterie facendo attenzione a non bruciarvi perché le batterie possono
essere surriscaldate. L'uso di apparecchiature anche in parte danneggiate può essere causa di
rischi.
• Per eventuali riparazioni, rivolgetevi a un Centro specializzato Konica Minolta.
• Proteggete l'apparecchio dai liquidi e non utilizzatelo con le mani bagnate. Se dovesse penetrare
del liquido all'interno dell'apparecchio, estraete subito le batterie ed interrompetene
di un apparecchio bagnato potrebbe causare danni, esplosioni o incendi.
• Non usate o riponete l'apparecchio in ambienti molto caldi o umidi, come il bagagliaio di
un'auto, perché potrebbero danneggiarsi sia l'apparecchio che le batterie con rischi di incen-
dio, esplosione o perdita di acido.

INSTALLAZIONE DELLE BATTERIE
Questo prodotto può essere alimentato con le seguenti batterie:
1 o 2 batterie agli ioni di litio NP-400
6 batterie Ni-MH ricaricabili tipo AA
• Si raccomanda l'uso di batterie agli ioni di litio per la loro maggiore
durata.
• Assicuratevi sempre che le batterie Ni-MH o quelle agli ioni di litio ricari-
cabili siano state ricaricate con l'unità di ricarica dedicata.
• Usate solo le batterie indicate in questo libretto di istruzioni per evitare il
rischio di malfunzionamenti o danni all'apparecchiatura.
• Se le batterie vengono installate mentre il VC-7D è montato sulla foto-
camera, prima di procedere con l'installazione spegnete la fotocamera
e fate scorrere l'interruttore di comando dell'impugnatura VC-7D su
"LOCK".
1. Premete lo sblocco dello scomparto porta-batteria nella
direzione indicata per aprirlo.
2. Abbassate il blocco interno per far fuoriuscire le batterie.
3. Estraete il porta-batterie.
4. Inserite le batterie agli ioni di litio o tipo AA rispettando le
indicazioni di polarità nello scomparto.
* Non toccate questi contatti.
