GMKtec NucBox G3 Manual

Before you begin, please ensure you have all the following items:

  • Mini PC Unit
  • Power Adapter
  • HDMI Cable
  • VESA Mount
  • User Manual
  • Warranty Card

Note: If any items are missing or damaged, please contact customer support immediately.

Quick Start Guide

Follow these steps to get started:

  1. Connect the Mini PC to a Display:
  2. Use the provided HDMI cable to connect to your monitor or TV.
  3. Attach a Keyboard and Mouse:
  4. Mouse and Keyboard Connect via USB. (Wireless connection must complete the Windows 11 Pro intialization setup in order to enable Bluetooth connection)
  5. Power On: Plug in the power adapter and press the power button.
  6. Initial Setup: Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the Windows 11 Pro setup.

Connecting to Peripherals

Wi-Fi and Ethernet:

  • Wi-Fi: Click the Wi-Fi icon in the taskbar, select your network, and enter the password.
  • Ethernet: Plug in the Ethernet cable for a wired connection.

Bluetooth:

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices to pair your Bluetooth devices.

External Storage:

  • Use the USB to connect external drives. (Please use external drives with independent power supply in order to run efficiently).

Operating System Setup

OS:

  1. Complete the initial setup wizard.
  2. Activate Windows (if prompted).
  3. Check for updates: Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

Reinstalling a New OS:

  1. Download the OS files in this link. (Login to your google account or register a new account before downloading.)

  3. Start the PC, find the USB flash drive, right-click the USB flash drive to format it as NTFS, and rename it to "WINPE"
  4. Extract the downloaded files and move the downloaded files into the "WINPE" drive on the USB drive
  5. Plug in USB drive into the Nucbox USB port and power on the computer. It should automatically start to reinstall.
  6. After reinstallation, the pc should restart, if it does not restart please turn off the pc and remove the USB drive. After, enter the test mode, double-click the Cleanup Action icon and then click OK in the pop-up.

Drivers Installation

  • Drivers & Updates: Visit our official website to download the latest drivers and firmware updates.

Instructions:

  1. Download the driver files in this link. (Login to your google account or register a new account before downloading.)

  3. Extract the downloaded file onto desktop
  4. Open the folder and double click "InstallDriver" file to start the Driver installation
  5. Click "Yes" when the command prompt pops up
  6. After installation, click any key to continue and the pc should automatically restart

Troubleshooting

No Power

  1. Check the power supply (unplug the power supply from the mini pc and check if the led light is on)
  2. Check if the mini pc power button led indicator turns on when you press and hold for 2-3 seconds
  3. Uninstall the RAM Stick and SSD drive, then check for any dust or debris on the connectors. Then reinstall back and try to power on the PC again.
  4. Reconnect the CMOS battery (located in the internal compartment)

Power but no Display

  1. Check HDMI Cable (Switch to a 4K Gold Plated HDMI cable to test connection. Make sure connection is seated securely to the mini pc and display)
  2. Check Display Resolution and Framerate. (change resolution to 1080p and 60Hz default resolution and frame rate.)
  3. Turn off any "Game Modes" or "Night Modes" in display settings.
  4. Test another HDMI port on the unit to check if the same issue occurs.

How to enter BIOS

  1. Press "Esc" key repeatedly during startup to enter BIOS settings.

How to enter Boot Settings

  1. Press "F7" key repeatedly during startup to enter Boot settings.

Mini PC auto shuts down when idle or overnight

  1. Under Power & Advanced Power Settings, turn off Auto-Shut Down, Sleep, under Sleep, there is a "Hibernate" option. Please set these to "Never"
  2. Under "Change Advanced Power Settings, " turn off hard disk after" to 9999.

How to Turn on Auto Power On

  1. Press "Esc" key repeatedly during startup to enter BIOS settings.
  2. Navigate to "Chipset" menu bar, then select the "PCH-IO Configuration" menu, and then press the Enter key
  3. Select the "wake on power (Automatic on)" menu option and press the Enter key. You will be prompted with two options: "S0 state/S5 State" (select S5 State to turn off "auto power on", and select S0 State to turn on "auto power on").

Fan is too loud, how to reduce the noise

  1. Press "Esc" key repeatedly during startup to enter BIOS settings.
  2. Under "Power Limit Select" or "Power Mode" select "Quiet" or the lowest TDP setting to reduce cpu usage and fan noise
  3. If the fan noise increases after a recent Windows update, please rollback the updates or reinstall the OS from our official site.
  4. Contact support to arrange a replacement cooling fan

Maintenance and Care

  • Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Avoid blocking ventilation ports to maintain optimal airflow.
  • Periodically check interior and clean out any dust.

  • Use only the provided power adapter.
  • Keep the Mini PC in a well-ventilated area to avoid overheating.
  • Avoid exposing the device to water, moisture, or extreme temperatures.
  • Do not disassemble or modify the device.
