INTRODUCTION Components Shipped Carefully check the contents of the carton for damage that might have occurred in transit. Do not discard the carton or packing material until all components have been checked against the following component list and the equipment has been installed and tested. INTRODUCTION General Description The Labconco Protector VS Ventilation Station comes completely assembled and ready to use. It provides a ventilated work area designed to handle toxic, noxious, or otherwise harmful materials. The assembly includes a hinged 1/4" tempered safety glass viewing panel, airfoil assembly and two electrical pass-through locations.
The enclosure is shipped assembled and ready for use. To complete the installation, the Ventilation Station must be properly vented to the outside. Six inch diameter ductwork should be used in conjunction with an accessory Labconco Exhaust Transition to properly exhaust this enclosure. The static pressure loss in your exhaust duct system will determine the requirements for a suitable exhaust blower for your Ventilation Station.

INSTALLATION Once your installation has been completed, the face velocity across the sash opening should be measured by a thermal anemometer. This will allow you to set your blower/exhaust system to achieve your desired face velocity requirements. Face velocities of 80-100 FPM are recommended for this type of enclosure.
NORMAL OPERATION Operating Instructions Do not operate with sash in the raised position. Work with equipment a minimum of 6" behind the airfoil for best results. To maintain proper airflow, do not block the baffle openings with equipment. Do not block the area underneath the airfoil, as this could affect the containment capabilities of this enclosure.
ROUTINE MAINTENANCE Clean-Up Procedures Soap and water should be used to clean the epoxy-coated metal parts on your Ventilation Station. Glass cleaner should be used to maintain all glass surfaces.
