important that you operate and maintain it correctly. This
manual is designed to help you do this. Please ;ead this
manual carefully and observe all the safety precautions
throughout. An extensive network of UNIVERSAL

available worldwide. Should your engine require servicing,
contact your nearest dealer for assistance.
This is your operators manual. A Parts Catalog is also
provided and a Technical Manual is available from your
UNN E RSAL dealer. Also, if you are planning to install this
equipment, contact your UNIVERSAL dealer for

The serial number for your Universal Marine Diesel Engine
contains a manufacturing dat e code at its end. Date codes
from 1990 up to 2008 were alpha numeric. The
character representing the decade D= 1990 s, E= 2000 s . The
three .numbers following re present the year in that decade
and the month. Example: D 311 represents1993 , the month
November ( 1 1 month). Universal
