App is to configure the PiCUS TMS 3 and to start and stop measurements. To connect the PiCUS TMS 3 with the mobile phone, an authentication code is required. The authentication code must be set before the first connection of the IML Tree Motion App with the PiCUS TMS 3.
  • Page 11: Synchronization Of Tms 3 And Location Function

3.6 Synchronization of TMS 3 and Location Function The internal clock of the PiCUS TMS 3 is automatically set using the mobile phone. It is based on the system time in conjunction with the time zone of the mobile phone. The determined start and stop times are stored internally in the TMS 3 as UTC timestamps.

  • Page 13: Battery Charge Level

: The icon and the indicated remaining runtime provide information about the remaining battery life of the PiCUS TMS 3. The remaining runtime is only a rough estimate. Aging and ambient temperature can have a significant impact on the remaining battery life.

In the menu, all inputs related to the tree and the measurement are made, which are then sent to the PiCUS TMS 3 and stored there along with the actual measurement data. Empty mandatory fields and invalid values are highlighted in red. Additionally, the valid value range is displayed below each input field.

Hold the camera during all height measurements so that the 3 lines are aligned as straight as possible. Aim at the upper edge of the calibration object and take an angle measurement with the upper tool button.

The base sensor should ideally be installed as close to the ground as possible, with the centre of the sensor approximately 5 - 10 cm above ground level. This ensures that only the inclination of the root plate is measured. If the PiCUS TMS 3 is installed higher, the curvature of the trunk becomes more significant.
