    Scope of this manual This manual is valid for the hoist configured for use together with 500, 1000, and 2500 L mixers. The hoist specifications are described in the General Specification and on the system label.

    CAUTION Fasten before moving. Lower the hoist lifting arm to its lowest position and fasten it before moving the hoist. CAUTION Tripping hazard. Make sure that all tubing, hoses and cables are placed so that the risk for tripping accidents is minimized.

    50 kg. Exceeding the maximum load of 50 kg can result in the hoist tipping over. WARNING Only for powder bags. Do not use the hoist to lift products other than powder bags within the approved weight range. WARNING Smooth surfaces only.

Contact your local Cytiva representative. CAUTION Click sound. When lifting the bag with the hoist, the operator must hear a regular "click"-sound coming from the winch.

    A single-use disposable bag is installed inside the mixer vessel. The powder bag is lifted to the top of the mixer vessel using the hoist. A three inch (3″) connection at the bottom of the powder bag is connected to the powder addition port of the mixer disposable bag and the contents of the powder bag are added into the disposable bag.

    System components Casters The hoist has four casters. The two front casters (A) are rigidly attached to the bottom frame. The two rear casters are swivel casters (B). The hoist can be rolled by hand on hard and smooth surfaces. The rear casters have brakes and can be locked when the system is at its designated location.

    5 Preparation Preparation About this chapter This chapter provides required information on how to prepare the hoist for operation. Lock and unlock the casters After setting the system at its designated location, lock the casters by pressing down the tab of each caster brake.

    6 Operation Operation About this chapter This chapter provides required information to operate the hoist in a safe way. Safety precautions WARNING Correct operation. Verify the correct operation of the winch before each use. WARNING Operating limits. Do not lift items heavier than the specified maximum load of 50 kg.
  • Page 26 Attach powder bag to the hoist Follow the instructions below to attach a powder bag to the hoist using the bag holder. Step Action Hold the push bars and move the hoist near to the powder bag.
  • Page 27 Action Put the powder bag on a table/platform high enough so that holder can be attached to hoist without lifting the weight of the bag. Note: Make sure the powder bag is clamped. The clamp must stop the powder in the bag from reaching the powder addition port.
  • Page 28 6 Operation Step Action Lock the hoist casters. See Lock and unlock the casters, on page 24 instructions. Turn the crank counterclockwise to lower the lifting arm. Push the bag holder into the lifting arm hook. Make sure that the locking bolt moves back and the bag holder is locked in the hook.
  • Page 29 If a regular "click"-sound is not heard during a lifting operation, turn the hand crank two to three turns in the UP direction to activate the brake mecha- nism of the winch. If the "click"-sound is still not heard, do not use the hoist and contact your local Cytiva representative.

The user should inspect the system for signs of wear and damage and request a service visit if anything abnormal is found.
