  • Page 4 1.1 1U Rack Mount Design The Netgate 8200 Secure Router was designed with rack mounting in mind and comes pre-assembled in a 1U rack mount configuration. The device can safely be mounted directly above another device in a rack, such as for an HA configuration.

Components may still be hot for some time after shutdown and the airflow from the fan brings their temperature down. The fan will stop if the CPU temperature falls below 5C (41F).

  • Page 7 CHAPTER GETTING STARTED Use the following steps to configure the TNSR Secure Router. 1. To configure the Network Interfaces and gaining access to the Internet, follow the instructions provided in the Zero-to-Ping documentation. Note: Not all steps in the Zero-to-Ping documentation will be necessary for every configuration scenario. 2.

  • Page 12 CHAPTER FOUR CONNECTING TO THE USB CONSOLE This guide shows how to access the serial console which can be used for troubleshooting and diagnostics tasks as well as some basic configuration. There are times when directly accessing the console is required. Perhaps GUI or SSH access has been locked out, or the password has been lost or forgotten.
