Most of these EOS bodies have incorporated many new features, the EOS-500N/Rebel G has greatly benefited from such fruitful research by Canon where some of which have also been incorporated into this upgrade. Anyway, to get a replacement model to the world's best selling line of SLR cameras is that that easy, but I think the EOS-500N/Rebel G has, in way accomplished its objective on the technical aspect.

Many features normally found only on more expensive models "AIM" (Advanced Integrated Multipoint) control is a proprietary Canon developed system software which links the focusing and exposure functions of the EOS-500N/Rebel G/Kiss II. The focusing system tells the exposure system where the subject is positioned within the frame, so that accurate meter readings can be taken from the main subject area.

Focusing Modes/Three points Focusing Many autofocus systems rely on a single focusing point in the centre of the viewing area. The EOS 50ON/Rebel G/Kiss II has three points spread across the picture frame. This makes it possible to focus on off-centre subjects, and makes it easier to keep moving subjects within the AF frame.

Exclusive accessories The camera shares many system accessories that was introduced for the EOS 500. Remote Switch RS- 60 E3 allows the camera to be fired from up to 60 cm away. It uses a 2.5 mm mini jack socket with three terminals.
