Cables should be secured in place such that they will not obstruct the stroke of the compensator piston rod, preventing it from moving. Note: Adapter holes are provided on the SAS Remote Actuator to allow for mounting of adapter levers (not Zetechtics supply). YSTEM PERATION The following instructions give a brief introduction to the general operation of the system.

Command Interface, and to provide an output of the Current Torque reading for torque tool calibration with a Zetechtics Jupiter Torque Tool Control System. It also allows interfacing to any other system with an RS232 interface, such as a data multiplexer, or data logger.
  • Page 13: Compensation System

OMPENSATION YSTEM NTRODUCTION The Torque Transducer is a sealed oil filled unit, which is factory fitted with a dedicated compensator to allow for oil volume variations due to temperature and hydrostatic pressure. It is important that the transducer remains sealed and oil filled to avoid the possibility of sea water coming into contact with the sensitive strain gauge elements within the unit.
  • Page 14: Maintenance /Storage

Removing/Installing the Torque Transducer It may be necessary to remove the Torque Transducer from the interface receptacle, for example, so that it can be returned to Zetechtics for re-calibration, or installed into a different interface receptacle. Although the strain gauge elements within the transducer are protected by a plastic cover, great care must be taken when handling this instrument.
