Tools and Materials Needed:
Flathead screwdriver
Phillips screwdriver
Adjustable wrench (optional)
Cleaning supplies (to clean the toilet before installation)
Installation Steps:
1. Prepare the Toilet:
Clean the Toilet: Ensure the toilet bowl is clean and dry before installing the seat.
Examine the Toilet Bowl: Check the two holes where the toilet seat will be mounted. Make
sure the holes are clear of any debris and are in good condition for securing the new seat.
2. Remove the Old Toilet Seat (if applicable):
Unscrew the Existing Seat: If you're replacing an old seat, use a flathead or Phillips
screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the old seat in place. You may need to use an
adjustable wrench to hold the nuts underneath the toilet bowl.
Clean the Area: Wipe the area around the toilet seat hinges to remove any dust, grime, or
debris.
3. Prepare the New Toilet Seat:
Align the Hinges: The Signature Hardware Luxury Toilet Seat has standard hinges, so ensure
they are correctly oriented on the seat. Each hinge should be in a position that lines up with
the mounting holes on the toilet.
Check the Mounting Bolts: The new seat should come with two bolts, nuts, and washers for
installation. Ensure these are included before starting.
4. Install the Hinges:
Insert the Bolts into the Hinges: Place the bolts through the holes of the toilet seat hinges and
align them with the corresponding holes on the toilet bowl.
Position the Seat: Place the seat on the toilet bowl and position the bolts through the holes in
the toilet. The hinges should be seated correctly, with the seat aligned to your preferred
position.
5. Secure the Seat:
Attach the Nuts: On the underside of the toilet bowl, place the washers and nuts over the
bolts. Tighten the nuts by hand to hold the seat in place.
Tighten with a Wrench (Optional): Use a wrench to securely tighten the nuts, but be careful
not to overtighten, as this could crack the toilet or damage the seat.
6. Check the Fit and Function:
Ensure Stability: Make sure the seat is stable and does not wobble. If needed, adjust the
position of the hinges slightly for a better fit.
Test the Seat: Lower and raise the seat to ensure the hinges work properly, and the seat stays
securely in place.
