In case of damage inform us immediately. The Batt Pack Spark is delivered to you in a ready to use state with 30% energy (+/- 5%). However, please make sure you read through this user manual carefully. If you have further questions regarding the unit, please contact HPS.
2.1. General Safety Instructions Before operating the Batt Pack Spark, carefully read and fully understand the instructions including all the cautions and safety notices shown on this manual. Following all instructions for proper operation and troubleshooting will reduce the risk of personal injury, death and/or property damage.
Crush or trapping hazard 2.3. Operator Responsibility Treat the Batt Pack Spark system with general care, by closing the output plugs and input plugs and turning the system off when not in use. If an unfamiliar sound or smell is noted to come from the unit, please turn off the unit and notify HPS immediately.
The e-stop is for emergencies only, improper use will damage the system. The Batt Pack Spark can be safely stopped by pressing the emergency stop button. Once the button is pressed, the Batt Pack Spark can only be restarted after releasing the emergency stop button and resetting the system.

W ARNI NG Risk of electrical shock! Do not expose the electronics of the Batt Pack Spark or the lithium-ion battery. When charging the Batt Pack Spark through the 48V DC input, make sure you use a battery charger suitable for lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) batteries.

CAUTI ON Risk of data loss or misconfiguration Do not integrate the Batt Pack Spark with any third-party software or other sub-systems unless expressly consented by Hybrid Power Solutions. Hybrid Power Solutions can remotely monitor the unit status and run diagnostics.

The Batt Pack Spark comes with a 4G LTE module that allows for the Spark to be remotely monitored. This 4G LTE module requires a SIM card with a valid data plan. If a SIM card was not included in the Spark purchase, a new SIM card can be installed in the 4G LTE module.

When using the system in cold temperatures (below 0°C), discharge power may be limited and run time can be affected by up to 40%. The Batt Pack Spark includes our Polarshield protection when using the system in sustained temperatures lower than 0°C [22°F] and will keep the battery warm.

The Batt Pack Spark will not allow a discharge to occur after being fully depleted until the system has been charged passed 23%. Battery Depletion – If the unit is left in the ON position, standby power will be drawn and slowly deplete the unit.

4.6. Starting Motors Please exercise caution when powering motors with the Batt Pack Spark. Most motors require 2-3 times their continuous operating amperage at start-up. Certain motors may require more amperage than can be produced. Note that the surge power of 48kW is sustained for 500ms and may not be enough for some motors.
