Read Me Safety/Warning Indicators & Messages Throughout this User Manual you will see important messages regarding your safety or the protection of your vehicle. These messages are designated by the words WARNING, CAUTION, or NOTE. WARNING WARNING indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury.

Violating traffic laws is dangerous and could result in injury or vehicle damage or both.
Factory Matching Warranty Coverage Factory matching warranty coverage (4yr/50k) (if applicable) is contingent on verification of purchase of a Dinan+ PCU variant in the form of a valid proof of purchase at time of submission. Your warranty is tied to the VIN (vehicle identification number) of the first vehicle the PCU App is used with (see page 2 for App install and usage).
G8X Installation Harness Routing / Sensor Locations Boost EXH Cam STEP 1 - Pull the hood latch twice and open the hood, then take the key fob away from the vehicle and wait 5 minutes. To prevent any DTCs, please do not enter the vehicle while any of the sensors are disconnected.

G8X Installation Cont’d STEP 2a - Some models need the strut tower covers to be set aside in order to access the strut tower brace bolts. If you can access the strut tower bolts immediately, move on to step 3. To remove the covers, twist the locking tab on the side strut covers to unlock the symbol, then remove the cover and set it aside.

G8X Installation Cont’d STEP 4 - To remove the intake, start by removing the two plastic clips holding the intake tube to the core support. Then lift the driver’s side intake box up removing them from the grommets. Using a pick tool, pull up on the wire clips securing the intake tube to the turbo inlet, then set the intake aside.

G8X Installation Cont’d STEP 5 - Twist the locking tab on the driver’s side strut cover to the unlock symbol, remove the cover and set aside. STEP 6 - Connect the PCU harness to the PCU module and place it underneath the strut cover. Run the PCU harness through the opening in the rubber seal shown below.

G8X Installation Cont’d STEP 7 - After routing the PCU harness under the seal, separate the boost sensor harness from the rest of the of the PCU harness. Take the boost sensor and route it behind the DME and down the driver’s side strut tower.

G8X Installation Cont’d STEP 8 - Starting on the driver’s side of the engine bay, remove the 10mm nut holding down the auxiliary water pump to gain better access to the boost sensor. Pull the white tab back then depress it to disconnect the boost sensor pigtail.

G8X Installation Cont’d STEP 9 - Next, route the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor harness on top of the intake manifold. Pull the white tab back and depress it to disconnect the MAP sensor pigtail. Connect the PCU harness to both connectors and secure the white tab back in place.

G8X Installation Cont’d STEP 11 - Locate the positive battery post on the passenger side strut tower. Remove the plastic cover by pulling the plastic tabs located on the front and rear outward and lift up. Remove the 13mm nut and install the 12V power wire from the PCU, then replace 13mm nut and plastic cover.

G8X Installation Cont’d OBDII Harness Installation This part is not necessary for the module to function but is required for datalogging and display gauges. Remove the two 8mm screws holding the panel underneath the dash on the driver’s side footwell and lower the panel. If your vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission, locate the rubber grommet on the firewall left of the brake pedal.

G8X Installation Cont’d STEP 12 - Secure the harness away from any hot or moving components by tucking them away or by securing them to the vehicle harness using the included zip ties. Secure the PCU module to the vehicle’s harness and replace the strut tower cover. Reinstall the engine cover, intake, strut tower brace, and anything else that may have been removed during the install.

F9X Installation Cont’d STEP 3 - Remove the strut tower brace by loosening the four 13mm nuts from each strut tower, then set aside. STEP 4 - Loosen the 4 intake and charge pipes from the engine cover using a 6mm socket and wrench. Then lift the engine cover and set aside.

F9X Installation Cont’d Grommet Locations STEP 5 - Connect the PCU harness to the PCU module and place it underneath the strut cover. Run the PCU harness through the opening in the rubber seal shown below. Run the rest of the harness along the firewall.

F9X Installation Cont’d STEP 6 - After routing the PCU harness under the seal, separate the boost sensor harness from the rest of the of the PCU harness. Take the boost sensor and route it behind the DME/ABS module and down the driver’s side strut tower. Boost STEP 7 - Route the exhaust cam sensor and FRP (Fuel Rail Pressure)

F9X Installation Cont’d STEP 8 - Next, route the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor harness on top of the intake manifold. Pull the white tab back and depress it to disconnect the MAP sensor pigtail. Connect the PCU harness to both connectors and secure the white tab back in place.

F9X Installation Cont’d STEP 12 - Locate the boost sensor on the charge pipe. Pull the white tab back then depress it to disconnect the boost sensor pigtail. Connect both connectors to the PCU harness and lock the white tabs back into place. STEP 13 - Replace the plastic shield and the wheel.
