2. Dashboard and Cable Tile The Dashboard of the PAL-TS system provides user with real-time status of all sensing cables connected to the system. Each cable on the dashboard is represented by a tile. Figure 2.1 below shows the typical dashboard layout.

4.1. Express Cable Setup The express cable setup is the fastest and most efficient way to setup most the PAL-TS leak detection systems. The express setup is accessed from the Cables and Probes screen and can be run on one or all cables at the same time. The process will automatically scan the entire length of the selected cable channel and determine the end of cable, total distance, take a new baseline Map 1 of the cable, and go into run mode.

4.5. Re-Initializing / Resetting Cable Map The PAL-TS system automatically setup Cable Map 1 for each connected cable channel as the baseline upon completion of cable setup process. As leak or fault events happen, the system will capture new maps to compare against Cable Map 1 baseline while continue to monitor for subsequent changes.

The section table is pushed to and pulled from the ATm board associated with the cable with the UPLOAD TO ATm and DOWNLOAD FROM ATm buttons respectively. The PAL-TS and the ATm device run autonomously, and the cable data does not need to be synchronized to function normally. However, ensuring the data between the ATm devices and the TS application are synched ensures that if there is ever a need to replace or rehydrate an ATm device, the data on the TS device is the same.
Connected Device List In the SETUP AND UPDATE DEVICE screen, the device list is shown with the ATm device that is inside the PAL-TS system and provides the communication status of each ATm devices. This communication status is a snapshot and does not update live. From this list, the user can easily identify the serial number and index (location on the serial bus) for each of the connected ATm devices.

PAL-TS system. Any changes made before clicking update will be lost. Note: The typical system is setup with Port 1 connecting the ATm device to the PAL-TS. Changing the baud rate of Port 1 may result in loss of communications. The default value of both ports is 57600.
The NETWORK SETTINGS screen is the IP Address, Subnet Maks, Gateway, and DNS of the system. To apply changes, click the UPDATE button to save to PAL-TS system. Changes made without clicking update will be lost on exit from this screen.
CLEAR LOG button. This will automatically delete the logs from the ATm being accessed and clear the log data from the PAL-TS system. This is typically used during commissioning or testing to clear logs that were created during those periods.
5.4.5.3. Re-Sync Event Logs The RE-SYNC button will refresh the log data on the PAL-TS from the ATm device being accessed. This is the same synchronization of logs that happens when the panel is added to the PAL-TS. 6. Using Zone and Subzone Zones are used directly with the GLS system as containers for the graphical map data.
The graphical locating system (GLS) is an integrated application that allow user to setup GLS map and provide remote status information. The GLS can be accessed remotely from a standard web browser within the same network of the PAL-TS system. 7.1.
7.2. GLS Application Menu The GLS application menu provides a convenient remote snapshot for the PAL-TS system. It consists of 2 lists. The top list of the GLS menu provides the real-time status of the connected cables. The bottom list will show all the queued events currently on the system.
7.3. GLS Event List The GLS event list provides the all events that have occurred on the PAL-TS with associated time stamp. This includes system events such as leak or fault detected by the system, as well as user access events that included setting changes and acknowledgement for audit trail purposes.
8. The Graph Tool The PAL-TS system is equipped with a built-in in TDR graphing function for advanced user to help analyze conditions of each of the sensing cable channels. The graphing system plots the data value as seen on the cable against the distance on the cable for each stored map plus the current map data.
Table 9.1: User type The user setup screen can be accessed from SYSTEM SETTINGS by clicking PASSWORD SETUP. Under the password setup screen, additional users to the PAL-TS and GLS systems can be added or deleted. Figure 9.2: Password Setup screen Document No.
10.3. Enabling Email The PAL-TS system allows emails to be sent to a single email address via an SMTP server. This feature allows emails to be sent to a distribution list so that users get alerts when events happen. The below table details the fields and their settings.
11.2.1. Setting PAL-TS System Time Included under the Communications Screen is the ability to set the date and time for the PAL-TS system. This time is used on the Dashboard, and as the timestamp in the system level logs. 11.3.
The PAL-TS supports BACnet connections with a BACnet client via the standard BACnet Port 47808. 11.4.1. Standard BACnet Input Mapping The PAL-TS uses 12 Analog Inputs to communicate the cable status by default. Each cable has 3 registers. Refer to the table below for details. Input Index Description...
