OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS Bedieningsinstructies 05.1 Magnification & focus There are two physical rotary knobs on the microscope. By turning the smaller knob one can first of all select the preferred optical magnification factor. The options are: 0.7x, 1.0x, 1.5x, 2.0x, 3.0x, 4.0x and 4.5x. After selecting the preferred magnification factor one can focus the view by adjusting the big rotary knob to get a sharp image. -

05.2.1.1 Side toolbar - Camera This tab is divided into four sections: Exposure, White Balance, Parameter Adjustment, Tool. 05.2.1.1.1 Side toolbar - Camera - Exposure The microscope applies auto-exposure when the ‘Auto’ button is highlighted: . In that case the user can only adjust the ‘Target Value’ and the microscope will automatically do all the rest of the adjustment. -

you cannot accidentally apply unwanted adjustments to the image anymore. • Monochromatic : Remove all colour of the image making it greyscale. • Compare : This only works with a USB storage connected. After clicking on it one can select a photo or video from the storage. This stored photo/video will then be shown on the right, while on the left you see the live view. -

select 0.7x from the dropdown. Another example: If the optical magnification is at 0.7x, but you have zoomed in slightly further digitally (e.g. using the scroll wheel of the mouse) to 0.8x, you need to add a new ‘Calibration’ for 0.8x and select that one when you have added markers. -

• Auto Hide Interface : When checked, a toolbar will immediately disappear once you leave the area of the toolbar with your cursor. • Recording Method : There are two options. ‘Video Recording’ method will record and save videos to the USB storage without any markers shown. ‘Screen Recording’ method will record and save videos to the USB storage with markers included in the video. - Page 13 frequency to 5 and the period to 6 minutes it means it will make a photo each 6 minutes and the total time to do so will then be about 30 minutes. Click ‘Start’ to start the camera timer with the entered settings. 05.2.2.3 Top toolbar - Record Video As soon as you click on this button, it will start recording a video.

05.1 Vergroting & focus Er zijn twee fysieke draaiknoppen op de microscoop. Door aan de kleinere knop te draaien kan men eerst de gewenste optische vergrotingsfactor kiezen. De opties zijn: 0,7x; 1,0x; 1,5x; 2,0x; 3,0x; 4,0x en 4,5x. Nadat de gewenste vergrotingsfactor is gekozen kan men het beeld scherpstellen door aan de grote draaiknop te draaien. -

05.2.1.1 Zijmenu - Camera Dit tabblad is verdeeld in vier secties: Exposure, White Balance, Parameter Adjustment, Tool. 05.2.1.1.1 Zijmenu - Camera - Exposure De microscoop past auto-exposure toe wanneer de ‘Auto’ knop button is geaccentueerd: . In dit geval kan de gebruiker alleen de ‘Target Value’ aanpassen en zal de microscoop zelf automatisch de rest instellen. -

• Freeze : Zodra u op deze knop klikt zullen veel ander opties worden gedeactiveerd waardoor aanpassen aan het beeld niet, per ongeluk, zomaar meer kunnen worden gedaan. • Monochromatic : Verwijder alle kleur uit het beeld waardoor het beeld in grijswaarden zal worden getoond. - Page 17 • Capture Photo with Measurements : Om een screenshot te maken en op te slaan op de USB-opslag. • Form : Om een tabel te tonen met alle gegevens van de markers, en indien nodig te exporteren naar de USB-opslag als een Excel-bestand om op een later moment te analyseren op een computer.

05.2.1.3 Zijmenu - Settings Vanuit dit tabblad kan men een aantal algemene instellingen van de microscoop aanpassen en wordt informatie over de microscoop getoond. • Language : Pas de taal voor de gebruikersinterface (user interface; UI) aan. • Power Frequency : Specificeer de frequentie van de lichtbron. Standaard is ‘DC’ indien je gebruik maakt van de ingebouwde LED-ring. - Page 19 opslag. Indien je markers hebt toegevoegd (lijnen, cirkels, afmetingen, etc.) met behulp van het ‘Measure’ menu dan zullen deze niet worden opgeslagen in de foto. 05.2.2.2 Bovenmenu - Camera Timer Met deze optie kan men de microscoop vragen om meerdere foto’s op te slaan over een bepaald tijdsbestek.
