1 Introduction The Network Tester 2 from ENQT GmbH is a tool designed for analyzing and evaluating wireless networks. It reliably measures and records key network parameters such as signal strength, network availability, and connection quality. Its advanced hardware and custom software ensure accurate, reliable, and repeatable measurements.

Connect the charger to the USB-C port on the bottom of the Network Tester 2 to recharge the built-in battery. Use the reset button on the Network Tester 2 to reset the entire device to the factory settings. For more information, go to section Handling.

450 MHz band. Network Tester 2 5G The Network Tester 2 5G is the tool you need to check both public and private 4G (LTE) and 5G networks. It supports 5G nSA (non-standalone) as well as 5G SA (standalone) and private 5G networks.

You'll hear a slight click when the cable is securely in place. The green status LED on the bottom of the Network Tester 2 will indicate the status of the charging process: Slow flashing: Charging in progress Permanent light indicates that the charging process has been completed.

Do not use any tools to screw the antennas on to the Network Tester 2. Fasten the antennas by hand to avoid damage. Do not operate the Network Tester 2 without antennas connected as this can cause damage.

The Network Tester 2 is equipped with a touch-sensitive display (touchscreen) for user inputs. Inputs can be made with a finger or a stylus (touch pen) suitable for capacitive touchscreens. A suitable stylus is included with the Network Tester 2. Using the stylus is particularly useful when gloves hinder finger input.

4.3.3 Use of custom SIM cards The Network Tester 2 allows you to use your own SIM cards. It has a SIM card slot on the right side for this purpose, which can hold up to two SIM cards in 4FF ("nano SIM") format.

Reset the Network Tester 2 by pressing and holding the On/Off button while also pressing the Reset button with the device switched off. You'll see that the On/Off button flashes during the reset process. Keep the on/off button pressed until the flashing stops.

4.6.2 Disconnect Before removing an extension module, complete all measurements and switch off the Network Tester 2. Use a slot screwdriver to pull out the red safety slide. Insert the screwdriver into the notch and slide out the red safety slider. Do not use the screwdriver as a lever, as this will damage the safety slider, the extension module or the Network Tester 2.

5.6.3 Softwareupdates Software updates give you the option to upgrade the Network Tester 2 to the latest version. These updates are available to customers with a service contract for the Network Tester 2 free of charge. Updates are only installed by ENQT at the express request of the customer and never without prior agreement.

6 Device functions 6.1 Meter Test Use the "Meter Test" function of the Network Tester 2 to efficiently determine the network coverage and usable networks at the very location where you plan to install or operate a meter, an antenna or a mobile phone.

You can deactivate the Interval function again in the options menu by tapping when entering the identifier. 6.1.3.2 Band Scan Normally, the optimum cell is automatically selected during a Meter Test measurement, regardless of the frequency band in which it operates. If the Band Scan option is active, measurements are taken separately in each frequency band.

Once enabled, the Band Scan option will remain active for subsequent Meter Test measurements and is retained even when the Network Tester 2 is switched off and on again. You can deactivate the Band Scan option again in the options menu by tapping when entering the identifier for a Meter Test.

6.2.1 Starting a measurement Before starting, you have to select which network operator and which technology to measure. First, select the network operator. Then, tap the button at the bottom of the screen to select the network technology (e.g. "LTE"). 6.2.2.1 Bar visualization The current measured value is displayed in different ways: A color scale from red, orange, yellow to green and the height of the bar indicate the value visually. The measured value is also displayed as a number with the corresponding unit.

In case you are unable to select 5G as network technology for the provider Deutsche Telekom, switch to the “Telekom 5G/4G” profile using the Profile Manager (see Profile Manager). The MCC (Mobile Country Code) is a three-digit number that identifies a country or region. Together with the Mobile Network Code (MNC), it is used to uniquely identify a cellular network. The number field only accepts a three-digit number. Confirm the entry by tapping .

All previous measurements are displayed in the history view, regardless of whether they have already been uploaded to the measurement data portal. If measurements are stored on the Network Tester 2 that have not yet been uploaded into the ENQT measurement portal, the symbol indicates the number of measurements that have not yet been transferred.

6.5 Profile Manager The Network Tester 2 uses profiles to define settings for SIM card, network parameters and the modem selection. Depending on the hardware variant, the Network Tester 2 may come with different pre-defined profiles. The Profile Manager function allows you to switch between them.

. The Network Tester 2 then returns to the home screen and re-initialises the modem. After a short time, the Network Tester 2 is ready to use again and displays all functions as usual. You can exit the screen via without changing the profile.

After confirming the name entry, you have to specify the modem and the SIM slot to use. The Network Tester 2 displays all modems available in the upper drop-down menu. Tap the modem you want to use to select it.

Next, define an APN (Access Point Name) to be used. This is specific to the operator and the network to be used, and is provided by the operator. Please ensure that the input is completely accurate, otherwise the connection will fail. Confirm your input with to get to the next step.

6.6.1 Data display The data display in the center of the user interface shows a list of all wM-Bus transmitters from which packets have been received since the function was started. In the list, all received wM-Bus packets are grouped by their transmitter ID.

In the detailed packet view, the time of reception, message size and signal strength are displayed. (Content) Usually, the content of the packets is encrypted. The Network Tester 2 can decrypt wM-Bus messages if the encryption key is known. By tapping the -symbol, you can open a window that allows you to enter the 32-character key in hexadecimal format).

6.6.4.1 Receiver mode The Network Tester 2 supports the reception of wM-Bus messages in either of S and T+C modes. Use the buttons to switch between the two modes. Tap the desired option and press to confirm.

If your LMN extension module is 12V-capable, a switch will be displayed. When activated, the LMN bus voltage is provided by the Network Tester 2. This means the bus is supplied without the use of a gateway or power supply unit. This is particularly useful for test setups.

7 Care instructions Follow these care instructions to ensure a long service life of your Network Tester 2: General cleaning Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the housing and screen. If necessary, dampen the cloth with water or a mild soap solution. Ensure that no liquid enters the connector or the inside of the Network Tester 2.

Avoid direct sunlight, high temperatures and high humidity. These may damage the Network Tester 2. Store the Network Tester 2 in the transport case when not in use to protect it from mechanical damages. ENQT's silicone protective cover is the perfect option to keep your Network Tester 2 safe during use.

Network Tester 2. Handling You must always handle the Network Tester 2 with care. The Network Tester 2 is made of sensitive materials such as plastic and glass and contains sensitive electronic components. Do not pierce, break or expose the Network Tester 2 or the battery to open flames or liquids.

Network Tester 2 and its accessories are not used or stored in a dusty, smoky, damp or dirty environment. The Network Tester 2 must not be operated in the vicinity of strong magnetic fields. Using the Network Tester 2 in the vicinity of a thunderstorm can cause irreparable damage.

Keep the Network Tester 2 at least 15 cm away from areas of your body where a pacemaker is located. Use the Network Tester 2 on the opposite side of the body to avoid interference with pacemakers or other implanted or neighbouring medical devices.
