    Model Description The Paragon Apex ® and Paragon Zenith ® 32 ounce popcorn machines are commercial units made for high volume entertainment venues. Both models can operate as countertop units or be placed on an optional stand/cabinet base unit (sold separately). For additional efficiency, both popcorn machine models can be equipped with an optional bag-in-box (B.I.B) oil delivery system (sold separately).

    Additional Details for Select Switches and Lights: KETTLE: If neither the READY or WAIT lights are illuminated and the kettle switch is in the ON position, please see the kettle portion of the troubleshooting section. The kettle automatic shutoff may be active. STIRRER: The stirrer switch should always be in the ON position when popping popcorn for best results.

    CLEANING Machine must be properly grounded to prevent electrical shock. Do NOT immerse kettle, warmer, or any other part of this equipment in water. Doing so may damage equipment and prevent it from working properly. Always unplug equipment before cleaning or servicing to prevent electric shock. Kettle reaches extreme heat during operation.

Doing this as often as possible helps to minimize heavy build-up of deposits that require specialized cleaning. 2.     TEMPERATURE SETTINGS Power to the kettle is controlled by a programmable logic controller (PLC) that reads temperatures from thermocouples (TC) in the kettle. This means there are no mechanical thermostats in the kettle. Instead, there are two thermocouples that each monitor temperature, one for popping temperature, and one for high temperature safety limit.

    High Temperature Safety Limit A very hot kettle can be a fire hazard. As a safety precaution, Paragon Apex ® and Paragon Zenith ® popcorn machines have a fixed, factory set, high temperature safety limit value of 600 degrees Fahrenheit (315 Celsius).

    B.I.B. OIL SYSTEM (if equipped) B.I.B. Features The Paragon Apex ® and Paragon Zenith ® popcorn machine models can be equipped with an optional bag-in-box (B.I.B) oil delivery system (sold separately). The oil dispense volume is timer based and factory set to 9 seconds (10 fluid ounces). To adjust the timer value, see the Programming B.I.B.

    B.I.B. Dispense Timer Programming To program the B.I.B. oil dispense timer, (and thus the amount of oil to be dispensed), follow the instructions below: 1. Locate the B.I.B. programming switch, (on the side of the BIB unit). 2. PRESS the programming switch so it is in the PROGRAM OIL position 3.

    AUTODUMP SYSTEM (if equipped) Autodump Features The Paragon Apex ® and Paragon Zenith ® popcorn machine models can be equipped with an optional automatic kettle dumping (Autodump) system (sold separately). The Autodump system uses a motor with a pulley and belt system that when activated, will automatically dump the kettle. It is designed to be used for dumping popped popcorn from the kettle into the cabinet.

    Kettle reaches extreme heat during operation. To avoid injury, NEVER touch kettle while hot. Any alterations made to equipment by anyone other than certified Paragon personnel will void warranty and may also create unsafe working conditions. NEVER make alterations to the equipment.

    Cabinet Base Stand CAUTION: Failure to follow the instructions below can lead to injury. NEVER lift the popcorn machine alone. Failure to follow the instructions below can lead to injury and/or machine damage. NOTE: Obtain a piece of wood or something similar to the height of the rubber feet on the bottom of the popcorn machine before placing the popcorn machine onto, or removing the machine from, the stand.

    To reset a circuit breaker, open the machine’s plexiglass doors. Look on the ceiling of the machine and press the button on the breaker. If the circuit breaker is reset and trips again, contact Paragon customer service for machine electrical troubleshooting and inspection.
