BEFORE FIRST USE
For best results, follow these steps before using your grill for the first time.
1.
Read and remove all packing materials and stickers (except for rating label). Be sure all
accessories are accounted for.
2.
Wash the griddle and drip tray by hand in warm, soapy water. Do NOT immerse the power
cord or temperature control unit in water or any liquid.
3.
Dry the griddle thoroughly. WARNING: Do not reassemble and use without thoroughly
drying the electrical port; if not completely dry, it can create an electrical shock hazard.
4.
Rub a little neutral oil, such as vegetable oil, on the cooking surface to season it. Do not use
aerosol cooking spray, as this can damage the nonstick coating. Wipe off any excess oil with
a paper towel.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
HOW TO SET UP THE GRILL FOR COOKING
1.
Unplug the griddle and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
2.
Remove the temperature control unit from its port. Wipe it down with a damp cloth
if necessary. The temperature control unit is NOT dishwasher safe and should not be
immersed in water or other liquid.
3.
Remove the drip tray. Wash the griddle and drip tray in warm, soapy water. Alternatively,
wash them in the dishwasher with the drip tray on the top rack. CAUTION: Do not use
abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they can scratch the nonstick surface.
4.
Let the parts dry completely before reassembling for storage. Do not store with the
temperature control unit inserted or the cord wrapped tightly around the griddle; keep it
loosely coiled instead. WARNING: Do not reassemble and use without thoroughly drying
the electrical port; if not completely dry, it can create an electrical shock hazard.
