Machine A2MC Functions
Function 54 - Safety Interlocks
Overview
If a safety interlock system such as a light curtain, pressure mat, or interlock access door is to be installed at the
machine, function 54 is used to set up and configure operation.
The safety interlock is wired directly to the A2MC controller on a dedicated circuit. On some A2MC's the input
is marked "ATC Sensor" and on others "Safety". Refer to the pictures below. This sensor is normally "closed" or
normally "on" which means the signal from the safety interlock device must be present for the controller to function.
If the signal drops or is lost, the controller will stop the machine. This means if the interlock system is not present
function 54 must be used to disable it, otherwise the machine can never operate!
There is an indicator LED above the connector indicating if the interlock has been closed. If the interlock system is
armed the indicator LED must be on for the machine to operate. If the circuit opens, the LED will go off, and the
machine will stop.
Once set the parameters of this function will remain in memory and are not lost when the system is powered off.
Valid Entry
The function is activated by entering;
The sub-console will display a screen where you activate and configure the delay for the interlock operation.
