Connect the speakers to main unit
1 Ensure the mains power is disconnected.
2 Connect the speaker wires between the main unit and the speakers.
Match the speaker wire to the appropriate terminal on the components:
(+) to (+) (colour), and (-) to (-) (black). (If the wires are reversed, the
sound will be distorted and will lack some tones.)
3 Hold down the terminal tab to
insert each wire. Release the tab
to lock the wire into the terminal.
Make sure the bare wire is fully
inserted and that the insulation
reaches right up to the tab leaving
no bare wire visible.
• To avoid short-circuiting the speakers, make sure the the stripped end
of each speaker wire does not touch another terminal or another wire.
Connecting the aerials
Plug the RF coax plug of the FM aerial lead into the external FM antenna
socket.
Assemble the MW loop aerial by bending the stand along the join and
continue to bend until the stand is at the bottom of the aerial. Clip into the
slot in the base of the aerial. Then connect the two wires from the MW
aerial to the external MW antenna terminals (in the same way the speakers
wires are connected).
Take out the DAB antenna and extend it to its full length.
Connect it to the DAB aerial stud by simply screwing it onto
the stud.

Plug the unit to a live wall outlet.
Backlight illumination in standby mode
Press any key (except
ON/STANDBY
control (when unit in standby mode) and the backlight for the display
illuminates and remains on for 5 seconds for you to check the information
on the display.

Setting the time and date (in standby mode only)
Auto synchronization with DAB signal
When the LCD display shows —:—:— in standby and the radio is switched
on in DAB mode, the clock will show the correct time and date obtained
from the DAB signal.
Manual synchronization with DAB signal
Switch on in DAB mode, long press
synchronisation function (the LCD will display clock sync) and the correct
time and date will be displayed.
Auto synchronization with FM (RDS) signal
When the LCD display shows —:—:— in standby and the radio is switched
on in FM (RDS) mode, the clock will show the correct time and date
obtained from the FM (RDS) signal.
Manual synchronization with FM (RDS) signal
Switch on in FM mode, long press
synchronisation function (the LCD will display clock sync) and the correct
time and date will be displayed. This will only work if the RDS signal is
being broadcast.
Manual adjustment
1 Press
in standby mode (press twice if back light on).

2 The hour digits will flash, adjust the hour whilst the clock display is
flashing by pressing

digits.
AM aerial tabs
3 The minute digits flash. Adjust the minutes whilst the clock display is
flashing by pressing
or
REW
FFWD
when the minutes change from 59 to 00. Press
minute digits.
4 Adjust the day/month/year following the above steps.
• If the time has been manually set the boom box will not update the
time from the FM or DAB signal unless manual sync is used.
Time and date may not update if station signal strength is low.
How to set the timer
Press
twice to activate Timer On setting mode.

to adjust the hour, then press

to enable the clock
