CIARA KRONOS 546-G2 Workstation 1.0 Installing and upgrading your system 1.1 Unpacking your workstation Your workstation is packed with ecologic moulded bottom and top fillers to keep it in place during transit. The keyboard is on the top pad of the box as well as other accessories. Carefully unpack your workstation and be sure to save the bottom and top fillers as well as the top pad for future shipping and transportation.
NOTE The KRONOS 546-G2 model comes either with or without a power supply On/OFF switch. For those systems that do not have a switch, make sure to shut down the system through Windows before proceeding to any repair or replacement work inside the system.

1.6.4 Installation of the memory modules Increasing the computer's memory capacity is the most common intervention carried out on a CIARA computer. This involves adding DDR5-type SDRAM (Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory) main memory. Please note that this memory is incompatible with the previous 184-slot DDR memory technologies, DDR2, DDR3 and DDR4.

Auto configuration lets a user insert or remove PCI cards without having to configure the system. When a user turns on the system after adding a PCI card, the BIOS automatically configures interrupts, the I/O space, and other system resources.

4.6.4 Optical drives The CIARA KRONOS 546-G2 may be supplied with a SATA DVD drive. The DVD drive is a half-height 5-¼ inch wide storage device, capable of holding 4.7 to 8.5 Gbytes of data. The system may be equipped with either a DVD-ROM drive, a DVD writer, a Blu-ray drive or Blu-ray writer.

4.13 Intrusion detector Each CIARA KRONOS 546-G2 workstation system includes a casing intrusion detector. When the casing is opened, the DASH or DMI agent receives a casing intrusion alert. If the customer installs in our system a Landesk, Unicenter or equivalent type agent, our system will report a configuration modification, including memory capacity or number of memory cards change, hard disk drive change, optical device or processor change.
If the battery wears out, your system will no longer retain BIOS information when turned off. For example, you will get a message stating that the time and date are invalid. If this happens, you should replace the battery, or call your CIARA service representative.
