Introduction GSL1600X-80HV is a high temperature alumina tube furnace with 72 mm I.D and high vacuum system. It can heat up to 1600 C by MoSi heating element and achieve vacuum pressure up to 10 torr by both mechanical and molecular. It is widely used for materials or chemical lab to sinter all types of new materials samples under vacuum or other gases condition.
Vacuum system Configuration Two vacuum pumps and vacuum pressure sensor and display are installed on bottom mobile bentch case • One rotary mechanical pump as first stage vacuum and achieves vacuum of 10-2 torr Vacuum System • One molecular pump as second stage and achieve vacuum of 10-5 torr.
System Structure Installation Once you receiving the MTI furnace, please check out the instruments and its accessories if they were well kept during the shipping and mach with the packing list accordingly. If not, please inform us at info@mtixtl.com.
Tube and flange installations Put the furnace on the top of the vacuum system. Assemble the tube to the furnace and then flange as below: Adjust the screw on stand bar to get proper height and plug the sensor. Connect the furnace to the vacuum system with the vacuum hose and then seal them by flange. Plug the sensor to the terminal Stand bar...

Another end of hose to this inlet of Stand molecular pump Please follow the picture below to install the all the KF flange: When finish the installation, please firstly calibrate the vacuum gauge (discussed later) and then do a gas leaking test to check if the sealing parts are well assembled. If your system has a big gas leaking rate, you may check the sealing part and apply vacuum grease on the them:...
Please order it at http://www.mtixtl.com/highvacuumsiliconegreaseforsealinggloveboxeq-gb- vg.aspx Power Connection Check AC power supply in your lab if meet requirement of our furnace. The furnace uses AC 220V / 5 KW power. Please make sure that power source in your lab is enough to meet this power requirement.
Furnace Operation Instruction Pre-Operation Place the test sample inside the tube (Crucible may be used as material container, please visit: http://www.mtixtl.com/ceramiccrucibles.aspx), slightly insert the foam block and then seal both end of the tube with flanges. If you are going to set up the Vacuum/Gas Flow system with the furnace, please properly set the vacuum level / flowing rate when you need to purge and charge the inert gas into the tube.

In order to get a precise temperature control, customer should pay more attention to the parameters of M5, P and t. Actually, MTI’s engineers have already made a strict high temperature pre-heating test (rate: 5℃/min) and fixed on these three parameters according to each furnace’ condition before...
However, the diversity of environment and the distinction in manufacturing for each customer, may seriously affect the operation, so, using auto-tune function to decide these parameters for a perfect result when the temperature is not stable and the error is large: Run the program and wait until the furnace temperature reaches to 80% of your desired temperature.
Step.7. High polluting, corrosive and explosive gas is forbidden to use in this system. Notice: When operating the pump, please open the front panel so that the system can get a better heat dissipation. Compound vacuum gauge with digital display ZDF-III-LED compound vacuum gauge consists of ZJ-52T pirani gauge and ZJ-27 ionization gauge ~10 which could accordingly measure the low vacuum level (10...
Ionization Unit (On the right) 1. Continuous measurement Make sure the both pirani gauge and ionization gauge are to measure the same system. The Pirani gauge will automatically measure the vacuum degree after system starts, and when the vacuum level is larger than 200 pa, ionization gauge will be on. 2.
Troubleshooting for typical Problems Troubleshooting resources Refer to “Quick troubleshooting”, the next section in this chapter; Visit MTI web site link: WWW.MTIXTL.COM for additional information about the instrument through Help and Support; Contact us by tel: 510-525-3070 or email: info@mtixtl.com.

Problem Description Possible Reason Solution Pump can not start 1. Cable broken or not contact 1. Change one or contact well well 2. Inform us 2. Other reason Pump can not reach to the rate 1. Vacuum system leakage 1. Eliminate the leakage and speed after a long time 2.
Notice: MTI never suggest you put any noxious, explosive or flammable gas into the tube. Please remember that the inside air pressure ≤ 0.05 Mpa and over pressure use is forbidden when applying quartz tube or corundum tube at high temperature.
Accordingly, loosen off two screws on the oil inlet (upper) and the two on oil outlet (lower). Remove the pump from the whole system and horizontally place it on a flat to ensure the inlet face up, and then, inject the lube into the two inlets and dispose the bad oil from another side, tighten the four M5 screws when done.
