    TRACTOR IDENTIFICATION 1.1 Chassis Serial Number Chassis serial number is punched on right side of front axle bracket (see figure 1.1) Chassis and/or engine serial numbers are used to register the vehicles. They are also used to assist your dealer when ordering spare parts or referring to special service information. Whenever you have occasion to consult your dealer, remember to identify your vehicle with this number.

Apply brakes smoothly and gradually. • When going down a slope use the throttle to slow the tractor engine and use the same gear you would use to up the slope.

    OPERATION 4.20 Service Brake (Hydraulic Assisted) Tractor is equipped with hydraulic assisted brakes for less operating efforts. The main brakes are operated by means of two pedals (Fig. 4.20), one for each rear wheel. Braking on one side assists steering in tight maneuvers. By locking rear wheel on the inside of curve, you can virtually turn the tractor around on its own axis.

    OPERATION 4.22 Differential Lock The rear axle differential is equipped with a lockinq device to engage when one of the rear wheels slips owing to lack of grip. To lock the differential, slow the tractor down and press the foot lever (Fig 4.24).

    OPERATION 4.23 Front Drive, Four Wheel Drive (4WD) Pull the lever in upward position for engaging 4WD mode. Push the lever towards downward the disengaging the 4WD. (Fig. 4.23). The purpose of the front drive is to increase traction on broken ground, mud and slippery surfaces. The control switch is used to engage and disengage the front drive.

    OPERATION 4.26 Ballasting the Front Axle If heavy implements that might destabilize the tractor are hitched to the lift, cast iron plates can be added to the front end to counterbalance their weight (Fig.4.26) The plates have handles so that they can be mounted and demounted more easily.

    OPERATION 4.27 Ballasting with Water for Rear Wheels Add weight to rear wheels if needed to improve traction or for stability. The amount of rear ballast should be matched to job and the ballast should be removed when it is not needed. The weight should be added to the tractor in the form of liquid ballast, rear wheel weights or a combination of both.
