Purpose
Our travel crutches serve walking disability people to compensate reduced capacity / ability of the lower limbs or as
coordination assistance with standing and walking. As a travel crutches the walking frame can be dismantled or folded and is
appropriate for better transportation. The application of the crutches can be done inside and outside of the house. For details
consider also strictly the safety instructions!
1. General Product-Information
Our folding crutches (traves crutches) are characterized by the following features:
 High load capacity.
 Multi adjustable by clip and with additional screw fixation.
 They are made of high-quality materials such as aluminum or precision - steel in conjunction with plastic (Pa).
 Reflectors (Cat Eves) at the front of the handle (Article 5050 and Article 5051) or at the front and back of the
handle (Article 220 RF) ensure a better visibility and therefore for an increased safety in the dark.
 They are individually adjustable and therefore adapted to almost any body size.
With us you will receive only products in accordance with the guidelines of the Medicine Devices Act.
Of course, we are certified according to DIN EN ISO 13485 & 9001.
2. Safety References
 Be briefed by your specialist dealer or medical personal in the use of the travel crutches.
 For the functional and ergonomically correct adjustment please contact your specialist dealer!
 Please note the maximum allowed body weight specified on the product!
 It is not allowed to hang bags, pockets or any other items at your walking frame! (Fig. D)
 It is not allowed to make any mechanical changes at the walking frame, because we can´t assume the
Liability and we can´t ensure the security of the walking frames anymore! For same reason only original
spare parts and original accessories may be used!
 Travel crutches are only crutches and may not be used for purposes than indented,
for example lifting or shifting furniture! (Fig. E)
 Crutches may not be abused as help to push light switches or elevator buttons!
 The adhesion of the underground is crucial for the secure hold of the crutch!
 The secure hold is strongly reduced on loose surfaces such as gravel, sand or leaves!
 The rubber of the crutch capsule have no hold on wet ground or icy areas!
 Very dangerous are also unevenness or holes in the ground, because the crutch can slide off
or sink thereby unexpectedly!
 Also loose laid floor coverings can slide away or work as stumbling point!
 During the pushbutton adjustment the button must stick out accordingly out of the hole!
 The holes for adjusting the walking aids are exposed to a certain amount of wear. It is important to ensure that the holes are
not hollowed out, then it may be that a secure locking of the push-button is no longer guaranteed.
 During the clip adjustment the plastic-clip must be used positively!
 All screw connections must be fixed strongly!
 Please control before every use if all screw connections are tight.
 The suction capsule may not be worn out too much! If the suction capsule is worn out too much please contact
specialist dealer or the medical personal, so that they can exchange the suction capsule.
 When there are external visible damages on your crutch ask your specialist dealer or the medical personal!
 Please be extremely cautious on wet or icy surfaces, even damp floor tiles pose an unexpected risk of slipping off!
 Special attention is appropriate with insufficient lighting conditions, because unevenness in the surfaces are hardly
visible then!
 Avoid snow or ice surfaces, when your crutch is not provided with snow and ice capsules!
You need crutches, because your usual mobility is restricted. Although the crutches help you in this situation, nevertheless your
basic mobility is still reduced! Please be aware of this circumstance constantly and be careful with the use of the crutches all the
time!
Better adhesion can be reached on critical surfaces with our special rubber capsule Jolo Renttol (Art. No. 930), adhesion
buffers (Art. No. 938) or our fold-away Ice spike (Art. No. 1718).
