The batteries in the new Accent 1400-30 device are now
"field replaceable", so they can be changed by the user at
home.
Removing the Device Frame
In order to change the battery, we first need to remove
the frame and Keyguard/TouchGuide (if fitted) from the
device.

1. If you are using a Keyguard or TouchGuide,
remove it from the frame.
2. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws six
screws that secure the frame to the device.
Important! Set the screws aside. You will need
them when you reattach the frame.
3. Pull the top of the frame loose.
4. Grasp one side of the frame and pull it loose from
the device.
Hint: You may want to use a flat-head screwdriver
or similar tool to gently lift the side & bottom tabs
on the back of the device.
5. Pull the bottom tabs loose.
6. Grasp the other side of the frame and pull it loose
from the device.
Removing the Old Batteries
1. Place the device face-down on a flat surface.

Screws
2. Remove the seven screws that hold the battery
cover in place and remove the cover.
Important! Set the screws aside. You will need
them when you reattach the cover.
3. Grasp the two plastic cable connectors on either
side of the opening and pull the cables out of their
sockets. Do not pull on the wires.
Pull the connectors out of the socket
4. Using the lugs to guide you, pull the tray towards
you to slide the batteries out of the device. There
is a set of batteries either side.
Please contact Liberator about safe disposal of
your old battery!
Inserting the New Batteries
1. The new batteries are supplied affixed onto the
visible at the top.

Slide the trays into the device.
2. Position the cable connector so that the red wires
are to your right. Insert the connectors in the
socket.
