This manual is considered to be an integral component of the 8450 Cultivator and is designed to educate the owner and/or operator(s) regarding safety, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and component identification.

    SAFETY INFORMATION BE AWARE OF SIGNAL WORDS SIGNAL WORDS designate a degree or level of HAZARD serious- ness. These signal words include: DANGER indicates a hazardous situation that, if not avoided, will DANGER result in death or serious injury. DANGER is limited to extreme situations, typically for machine components which for functional purposes, cannot be guarded.

    • A safety lighting package, conforming to implement lighting standard ANSI/ASAE S279.12, if not supplied with, is available for addition to your equipment.     TOOLING OPTIONS AND INSTALLATION INDIVIDUAL ROW UNITS In most cases, the 8450 cultivator is purchased as a machine and row units will be factory installed to the toolbar. Individual 8450 cultivator row units can be purchased seperate of a WARNING toolbar.

    Install optional fertilzier kinfe clamp package to mount Fertilizer Kinfe to rear shank. Note that the 8450 comes factory with a 36” long shank. 24” shanks are available from Orthman to fit this application. It is advisable for 180 degree folding to use a shorter shank.

    TOOLING OPTIONS AND INSTALLATION OPEN TOP SHIELDS Open top sheilds allow for increased ground speed while maintaining residue control when cultivating a crop.
