1.1 Introduction Congratulations on the purchase of your new AmScope microscope! This manual is designed for the ME1400 series microscopes (ME1400B/T). Invert metallurgical microscope is used to discern and analyze organizational structure from kinds of metal. It is very important in the work of quality research for foundry, smelt, heat treatment and inspection for raw material and analysis for metallurgical structure of material after processing.
ME1400 Series Before Use 1.2 Safety Precautions As the microscope is a precision instrument, always handle it with care, avoiding impact or abrupt movement during transportation. Do not shake the package. Do not place the microscope in direct sunlight or in high heat. Keep it indoors in a dry and clean place with temperatures between 32-100 degrees °F (0-40 degrees °C), and in maximum relative humidity of 85%.

ME1400 Series Getting Started 8. Remove the eyetube caps and drop the desired eyepieces into the eyepiece ocular tubes. Be sure to Eyepiece avoid touching the lens to ensure no artifacts appear in your image. (Fig. 7) Fig. 7 If you have a trinocular model (ME1400T), unscrew the trinocular port cover from the head of your microscope.
ME1400 Series Operation 4.1 Setting Up 1. Loosen the head lock screw and adjust the microscope head so that it is in a comfortable position for observation. Lock the head-lock screw. 2. With both eyes open, look into the eyepieces. Adjust the...
ME1400 Series Operation 4.3 Adjusting the Illumination System 1. After the image is in focus, use the dimmer on the base of the microscope to adjust the brightness of the image. Typically, you want to turn the dimmer all the way up, and use the field diaphragm and aperture diaphragm to modify the quality and focus of the light.
ME1400 Series Operation 4.4 Using Polarizer or Color Filters 1. To user polarizer, turn the dial of Filters Holder Use dial to until “POL” showing. choose 2. The polarization of the polarizer is horizontal. “POL” Fig. 14 3. To user Analyzer, pull the Analyzer rod to move the analyzer into light path.
2. If your camera has a C-mount, you will have to use AmScope adapter model CPC to attach it to the top of your trinocular tube. 3. If your microscope head has a photo/video pin, make sure to pull it out when you are using the trinocular tube.
ME1400 Series Operation Changing the Fuse 1. After making sure the microscope is unplugged, use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the fuse holder located on the back of the microscope just inside the power socket. 2. Replace the blown fuse with a new one and install the fuse holder back into place.
ME1400 Series Operation Changing the Bulb 1. If your model comes with LED illumination system, you don’t need to change bulb. Install or replace the lamp bulb (For halogen bulb model): Make sure the power is off and power cord is disconnected. Push the light house upward from the bottom.
Doing so will void your warranty unless by advisement of one of our technicians to do so. - After use, cover the microscope with the provided dust cover. - Keep your AmScope microscope in a dry, clean location in order to prevent rust or other damages.
