LED Driver Replacement Instructions for Appleton™ Areamaster Connect™

Safety Instructions

What's Included
• One (1) LED driver
• One (1) Instruction Sheet
• One (1) Cable Tie
NOTE: Mounting hardware is not included with driver replacement kit
Removing LED Driver
1.
If antenna is perpendicular to the driver housing, rotate it counterclockwise until it is parallel to the driver housing. IMPORTANT!
Antenna must not be rubbed or cleaned with solvents or a dry cloth. Instead, use a damp cloth to clean antenna and enclosure.
To access the luminaire's interior, loosen the four (4) ¼"-20 captive screws located on the driver housing. For AMLCL3 / IAML-

CL3, see Fig. 1A & 1B. For AMLCL6 / AMLCL8 / IAMLCL6 / IAMLCL8, see Fig. 2A & 2B.

If required, use a 5" screwdriver to pry the wiring compartment cover open. See Fig. 3 & 4.
NOTE: Do not place driver housing over plastic housing and antenna. Sufficient clearance must be maintained to avoid damaging the
plastic housing and antenna.

Loosen the customer terminal block screws holding the white (N) and black (L) wire leads. Remove the wires. See Fig. 14.

Cut the cable tie inserted into the ferrite core and move the ferrite core assembly to access the screws below it.

For AMLCL3 / IAMLCL3, remove the #6-32 screw holding the ground cable lug as shown in Fig. 10. For AMLCL6 / AMLCL8 /
IAMLCL6 / IAMLCL8, remove the #6-32 screw holding the ground cable lug and Ferrite core assembly lug as shown in Fig. 11.

Loosen the screws inside the DC connector holding the red and blue wire leads. Remove the wires. See Fig. 5, 6, 7 & 8.
NOTE: Avoid touching the APG Com board with bare hands to prevent static electricity from compromising its functionality.
8.
Loosen the screws on the APG com Board holding the Vaux 12V (Red/White), Dim "–" (Black), and Dim "+" (Purple) wire leads.
Remove the wires. See Fig. 12 & 13.
9.
Remove the four (4) #8-32 SEMS screws holding down the LED driver assembly.
10. Remove the old LED driver assembly.
11. Save the screws for reinstallation; hardware is not included with driver replacement kit.

  • Page 6 Installing the Replacement LED Driver Ensure the current (mA) printed on the driver label of the new LED driver assembly matches the current (mA) printed on the driver label of the old LED driver assembly. Also, ensure the LED driver has a PWM label attached to it. See Fig. 9. Insert the new LED driver assembly into the driver housing.
